Unique ambience, we sat at the patio for dinner and the vibes were very mellow an chill. Food was great, especially the Boromir's Boudin Burger and the Dwalin chicken sandwich. Special call out to the excellent wait staff for making it totally worth our 'lets try this place out' visit. Cannot wait to try more from their menu.

We went for my birthday and 50th anniversary because my friend had never been there but yelps. She got homemade chicken salad and I want to say almond salad that I think were secret menu items you have to request. I got the balrog burger which was delicious and 10/10 recommend. I've been here like a million times and have never had bad service until this visit. The waiter was very rude to us and weren't really sure why. We will be going back of course

The manager is the rudest manager I have ever encountered!I would like to start by first stating I have been coming to this place monthly for over a year now and have thoroughly enjoyed their food (especially their pancakes). I was very much so a regular until today.I ordered my usual order of the Nutella pancakes with extra Nutella and syrup on the side. I am use to having to ask for more syrup because their pancakes are made super dry, the syrup entirely absorbs on the top pancake of the 3 stack which leaves the rest of your food just feeling like dry bread. They do not have a syrup dispenser and instead put the syrup in small 1 oz containers and only bring you maybe 3 or 4 of them which isn’t enough for the size and thickness of their pancakes. When I arrived to pick up my order, it was already roughly 15 minutes late than the time they told me it would be ready by (20 minute wait). Which I politely waited for, again I was a regular so it felt worth it. When I got my receipt, I saw that I was charged for extra syrup and thought hm that’s funny but again oh well because I enjoy their food. That was until I finally got my order and saw that the “extra syrup” that was given was 2 extra containers of syrup in a 1.5 oz container that wasn’t even filled to the top so instead it was equivalent to the same 1 oz containers though I was charged more for extra syrup. I’m thinking “ok not a big deal, I’ll just ask for more since I was charged more”. I then asked the hostess if she could give me extra syrup since it’s what I paid for to which she was kind and did so but as I was speaking with her, the manager overheard me and said that it is all he could give and if I wanted more, I’d have to pay extra again for more syrup. To which I stated that since I was charged for extra, it should be to where I am seeing that extra instead of it looking the same as the normal serving of syrup. I had no issues with paying more but I didn’t want to pay more to not receive the money’s worth. I asked him if I could just have what I paid extra for and he exclaimed that he can’t with how expensive things are these days and how much their syrup costs, that he has to charge more. Which made no sense since this place is always packed with wait times easily happening on the weekends. I then commented that it would be much easier if instead this place had dispensers for syrup that you could pour on your own, that way nothing has to be portioned and measured out to tiny 1 oz containers. Well little did I know that was going to set this Alpha male manager off. The rage consumed him almost immediately because he didn’t care to have to walk and grab me more syrup and felt that my suggestion compromised his authority. His next statement wasManager: “oh so you want to tell me how to do my job then?!”Me: “well sure why not, if you insist”.Manager: I’ve been the manager of this place for over *insert some sad amount of years here since I don’t remember* how dare you tell me how to do my job. We don’t want your business here anymore!Me: Because I just asked for extra syrup that I paid for?Manager then sees the hostess return to me with extra syrup and boy did that hurt his male ego entirely, his jaw practically fell through the floor since he really wanted to win this battle that I didn’t know we were having. His face was in pure shock and horror by the sight of her giving me that extra syrup.Manager: That’s it, give me their card information since they’re no longer welcome here anymore!Me, my fiancé, and the hostess all just stood there shocked. With the kind hostess commenting.Hostess: Well I guess I came back at a bad time.Me: Yea that was pretty crazy all for extra syrup.Hostess: I know, I’m so sorry. This sucks because you guys came here all the time.I had never been so disrespected and for something so insignificant to the point that even the hostess thought her own manager was out of line and had to apologize to me for his childish behavior. Mind you all of this was done in front of other customers. Worst experience ever.

The Hobbit is one of my favorite places, AND their staff is incredibly kind and helpful. While the prices may seem high, you get a ton of food making it worth it. Why is the sandwich $22? Because it can feed an army—that's why. Also, I ordered from them online once and there was an issue—they resolved it for me quickly and easily.Vegetarian options: Lots of options for vegetarians.

Went for the first time in a few years. My sandwich was basically just avocado mush with a few mushrooms thrown in. The waitress would barely acknowledge me until she realized I was the one paying for the entire group meal. Will not go back.

Food was good. Had one of their specialty burgers with sweet potatoes fries. We added a boudin sausage which was very tasty. To me the shrimp rolls fell flat only because I was expecting chunks of Shrimp vs a smooth consistency. Our waitress was excellent and always there to refill drinks or check on us!

I’ve gone there quite a few times now, and every time the staff is friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. It is such a cute little place decked out in lotr merch and the menu has funny punny names. I absolutely love it. I normally get the mushroom and spinach quesadillas and I’ve never had an issue with the food or drinks. Sitting outside or inside is great either way!
