The Home Plate Bar & Grill is definitely CLOSED — even has a homeless person sleeping on the stoop — but the location seems too good for the closure to be permanent.
The staff is awesome!! And the customers are great!!
Really good customer service and the burger was really good ?First time here
Nice place to relax, people watch, eat good, etc. The staff was very kind and attentive. I can see why they have so many reviews.
Popular place for ASTROS home game hang out , good foods & drinks
Great food great atmosphere for any ball game in Downtown Houston
WE’RE OPEN FOR TAKE OUT ORDERS! 12pm (noon) - 7pm!!! The Astros season may be delayed, but I’m here to serve you guys while you wait on your togo orders! Come have a beer while you wait!
They’re currently providing take out service via limited menu for the restaurant’s popular food. I went with a burger and fries. It didn’t disappoint it served with a big portion of fries and some delicious pickles. Wings that had a spicy sauce that was perfect blend. Everything was delicious
On our way to a baseball game we stopped to get something to eat. I noticed there was only one waitress for a packed full restaurant. She finally arrived at our table and took our drink orders. It took at least 20 minutes for our drinks to come and our chips and salsa. The chips were incredibly bland and I disliked the salsa. I had to put a ton of salt on the chips before they had any taste. After another hour the manager asks if we got any food yet. we said no and that if it wasn't ready, to bring our check. It was ready, but it wasn't worth the wait at all. My fries and burger did not taste good at all. Needless to say, I won't be coming back.
Great location with pretty good grub with uninspired service

Came here on a dreary Sunday after rolling around downtown and working up an appetite. This place has HUGE proportions. I got the Frito pie and tator tots and they hit the spot!
First off the service and the hot wings were good. Now the bad, Sprite was yellow, Coke and Dr Pepper were flat, stuffed jalapenos were sliced and tasted like spicy okra, footlong hotdogs were actually corn dogs, just not good at all
Friendly bartender, cool sit right across from minute maid. Good drink specials
Burger was good. Fries were not cooked all the way. And took 45 minutes plus for a to go order. And only have 3 waitresses for the entire 2 story restaurant.
Food wait was too long. We were tempted to cancel our order and pay our drinks. The food we got was very inconsistent but the service was good.
