Ever since I was a kid I loved this place so much, even my family would sit down and talk to the owners (the Asian grandma, and yes I’m Asian) and we knew them. Ever since we came back for Chinese New Year the owner is nowhere to be found and new workers are in place and it’s not the same at all. The food was…well something!! When I ordered the garlic bak choy, my favorite thing since I was a child, it tasted so weird. I think they switched the sauce with oyster sauce and the food in general just tastes so different that my mom and I didn’t even finish half of it. The service wasn’t completely bad but it was weird.

Stopped taking calls for a while. After 2 , 3 months called in delivery. Poor phone manners: he went hello? hesitant ,short ,rude.
I ordered from memory.the wonton family soup? downsized and the won tons diminutive. The steamed dumplings tasted bad ,actually bad. No sweet sauces included
Special fried rice ok
Its always been around 30 bucks or so.
This time it was 54 before tip.
Not buying here again

Never again. We used to come here to eat. Yesterday the place was dead, just one other table. We sat for 3 minutes lonely so we left. Waitress never acknowledged us when we came in. Face on screen for a long time and then went back to the kitchen. The worst service experience ever for a sit down restaurant. Not even a freaking menu for us to look at?

NEVER AGAIN. We will never visit nor order from Hou Wei again due to an employee named Joey. We LOVE the food and the wonderful delivery drivers at Hou Wei, but Joey lost us as longtime repeat customers today. Normally someone else answers the phone who is polite and helpful, but occasionally it is Joey. And we dread when it is Joey. She is short-tempered, extremely difficult to understand, and she does not seem to know the menu. We've been patient in the past when she's answered and we've had to repeat the order multiple times (yet still received the wrong food), but today was the last straw. I hope this otherwise excellent restaurant either invests in some customer service training for Joey or reassigns her to a position more suited to her presumed strengths.

There are a lot of Chinese food restaurants in the area and none seem to have great ratings so it was hard to pick. This one deserves a better rating. The food was great, the service was fast, absolutely no complaints.

Friendly service but the food lacked flavor and the dinner portions were light. We had bbq pork, beef with broccoli, chicken lo mein, sweet and sour chicken and house fried rice for a little over $50. I wouldn’t consider it overly priced if they had proper portions and maybe vent the sweet and sour chicken so it doesn’t get soggy/mushy.
