Since Matt and April sold the place ,the food taste is not the same, and I'll just leave it at that.the place shined because of their soups turns out sweet pea soup has been discontinued and the Lentil soup tastes NOTHING like Matt's recipe, it tastes sour (just weird) overall flavor of their food changed ,please Dave and Noel, call Matr and have give you the ingredient missing fron their signature lentil soup? Also when you order to go they never have your items packaged in a bag and ready to go ,the food it's always just there sitting and you have to wait till they decided to bag the stuff ,being always in a hurry that's annoying (and I feel bad for the door dashers)

Lunch for our hardworking team yesterday was great. Food was very fresh and reasonably priced. Excellent customer service, too. Plus, the order was 100% correct (a rarity these days.) Surprisingly huge menu that had something for everyone. Very convenient to our office, so we will definitely be back.

Good food, TERRIBLE SERVICE!I ate here about a month ago, it was good but it took them about 15 minutes to make a sandwich and they were not that busy. I figured this time I could 'have my cake and eat it too' by calling in my order ahead of time. WRONG! I get there 15 minutes later and they 'lost' my ticket and had to make it on the fly. I complained about my experiences and all I got was 'sorry bout that'. NO OFFER TO MAKE IT RIGHT! Again, good food but if you are on a lunch break time budget, definitely NOT WORTH THE HASSLE AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

The atmosphere was real easy-going and the food was super fresh- the service though was the best part of the experience! Incredibly welcoming, made me feel like a regular as soon as I walked in. Great place to stop by for some lunch!

Came in from Minnesota for a music fest and didn’t know where to go and very glad I came here. The owner is very friendly and cares about his customers he made sure we were taken care of. And the sandwiches oh my goodness they are huge filling and made me get a second one to go. Would give 6 out of 5 if I could. Look At the picture that’s half the sandwich never got that big of a sandwich in Minnesota.

Honestly this place needs to be more popular! The food is great quality. The staff is friendly. And you would never know that the manager is out on the floor just like his crew. BTW the hours of operation are incorrect. They recently started opening on Saturday 11-3. If you don't believe me give them a call and ask the friendly staff!

Deli sandwiches are available from lots of restaurants and it’s tempting to give in and visit a national chain, since there are so many of them. But if you want a better deli sandwich, you need to seek out local establishments and one of the best in the Houston area is Houston’s Famous Deli.Located close to NRG stadium and the Houston Medical Center, Houston’s Famous Deli is a small establishment located in a strip mall. Nothing about it would get your attention- it looks like any other strip mall eatery. And when you walk inside, you will find that it is pretty basic, with tables and chairs to seat about 20 to 30 people, a counter to place your order, and a self- serve fridge containing bottles/cans of soft drinks. What will impress you at Houston’s Famous Deli is the food itself. They are well- known locally for their muffaletta but the other food is equally memorable. Choose among the different cold and hot subs, then add soup, chips, salad, or other side for even more enjoyment. I usually go for a combo meal, which includes a sandwich, chips, and a drink. The meat is fresh, the toppings are crisp, and the bread is just right. You leave feeling satisfied.I love a good deli sandwich and I often give in and visit a national chain because they are so easy to find. But Houston’s Famous Deli proves that the best food is found at locally owned establishments. The delicious sandwiches served here, the easy parking, and the friendly service make this hidden gem a place you don’t want to miss.

My husband surprised me with dinner. The BEST sandwiches. The staff, Lisa & David, were so nice. Extremely helpful and kind...he came home raving about how nice they were.Highly recommend.Houston Famous Deli has such delicious food.I had the Pastrami muffuletta. Sandwich was filled with tender and wonderful Pastrami, loaded with fresh salad and the softest toasted bread. My husband had a king muffuletta and it was loaded with several meats..ham, turkey, salami and capacitance. It was marvelous.

I love a good deli sandwich, if it is made and prepared right. It’s usually just the right amount of food for lunch and when I found myself one day looking for a place not far from my day job that specialized in deli sandwiches, I wound up visiting Houston’s Famous Deli. This is a simple restaurant with an interior that has seating for about 20 to 30 people. There is nothing exceptional about the inside or the atmosphere. Houston’s Famous Deli doesn’t try to impress you this way- it saves its expertise for the food. And speaking of the food, it is easily the best reason to visit this restaurant! They serve hot and cold subs, soup, salads, muffaletta, chips, desserts, and more. They take great care to present only the tastiest deli sandwiches, freshest meats and bread, and crisp toppings. I have thoroughly enjoyed my food here and wondered why I hadn’t heard of this hidden gem before. Beverages are available from a self- serve fridge. Orders are placed at the counter and you then wait for your food to be delivered to your table. Since it is located in a strip mall, the parking is free and there is usually no trouble finding a place to park. Deli sandwiches are great but it’s not always easy to find a well- made example of this classic lunch and dinner food. Houston’s Famous Deli is a place that does, indeed, know how to make a deli sandwich and make it right, earning this establishment an easy 5 tars from me.

Friendly owners, Matt and April, along with Bill, keep this little gem immaculate. They were on top of cleanliness well before Covid! The food is fresh and tasty, served with positivity and kindness. Five stars.

This place is a breath of fresh air. From the moment you step in the door you are greeted and made to feel welcomed by the owner. 1st time eating in we were given the tomato bisque and banana pudding “on the house to try.” Now each are one of our faves so we purchase at almost each visit along with the King muffuletta sandwiches which are the absolute best! They are huge and filling! This place is a gem....loyal customers here.
