Someone Out There
I stopped by this IHOP around 2 a.m., which has become my little ritual after a long day of running errands and chores. Usually, it’s just a quiet, simple meal to end the night, but this visit turned out to be something special. I had the pleasure of being served by Tammy, and let me tell you, she completely changed the vibe of my night.
At 2 a.m., most people are running on fumes, but Tammy? She was full of energy, smiling, cracking jokes, and making the whole place feel warm and inviting. Her energy was so contagious that I didn’t even need my usual coffee to wake me up, she was the coffee!
She checked in often without hovering, made sure our food came out just right, and was genuinely friendly in a way that didn’t feel forced. It’s rare to get that kind of service in the middle of the night, and it made the food taste even better.
I left feeling happier than when I walked in, which is exactly what great service should do. From now on, Sunday late nights are going to be my “Tammy IHOP nights” because I know I’ll leave with a full stomach and a big smile.

The atmosphere was somewhat depressing. The lighting was horrible, the seats looked dingy, and the place overall inside looked like a relic from the past.
My buddy and I had lunch. He got the chicken and waffles and I got the appetizer sampler. The cooks on both of our chicken tenders were overcooked; one of my onion rings had some white powder inside, like it wasn't fried or battered fully; my friend asked for BBQ sauce for his chicken and they gave him marinara sauce! The food was hot, so I will give credit for that. The mozzarella sticks were good.
Service-wise, it just seemed like our server was going through the motions, and not being attentive. Other restaurants (including other IHOPs) would have servers who would offer suggestions and be more lively.
It was my first meal of the day, but I do not think I got the best bang for my buck. I didn't feel satiated. The portions for the sampler back then used to be much larger than what I received. But that may be indicative of the times more than anything.
Next time, I think I'll try a different IHOP or Denny's.

The food is delicious, reasonable prices, we were served by Angelee who was very attentive, very kind, very efficient and decent, I would give her 5 stars for how well she served my wife and I, the place was very clean, there were only two things that we did not like, the first which was the worst, a waitress who has been working at this location for quite some time hwy 6 and Bellaire, was in a very bad attitude talking badly about the customers without them realizing it, she did it with other waitresses :( , the second they charged me $8 more on my receipt than the total was $25 and they charged me $33, they fixed it, they left it at $25 in a nice way and my wife told me that two previous times she has come, they have charged her extra, it seems like it is a common practice to add something extra to the ticket
