I had been very displeased with the food here in Houston since moving here two years ago. On a whim, I was craving Haitian black rice and decided to give this place a try. This was my first time using a locker pickup/delivery restaurant, but it was pretty easy to navigate. I'm from Miami so when I tell you this was the best meal I've ever had, believe it. The atmosphere score is low because it is a ghost kitchen with no ambience.
We are from Miami and will give credit where it’s due. This food was really good ( not Miami good, but good).
We had kabrit, Akra, djon djon, pwason fri, and macaroni gratin. The only negative thing about the kabrit is that it was very fatty. We wish they had cut that off, but other than that, it was very flavorful.

You will not be disappointed! I normally don’t write reviews for restaurants, although island spice deserves this.
Their food tastes the same every time I go. The other restaurants disappointed me after giving them chances. Island spices top tier!
