The food here is always great, but our server, Ryan, was unprofessional. We had to flag down other servers for water, extra wasabi, hot tea, and to order another dish. When we asked for the check, he simply handed us a piece of paper instead of placing it in a bill holder??
To make matters worse, he mistakenly charged us for two beers we never ordered. I had to call the next day to correct it with the manager, who issued a refund.
I’d give his service -0 stars.

Came here with my family for a weekday early dinner. There is no wait at 5pm. We sat outdoor on a nice breezy day. The music speaker was loud and the music choice is terrible (annoying Japanese pop and techno dubstep). We ordered a variety of food including noodle bowl, seared fish, sashimi and appetizers. The rice and udon are really good. Tempura is outstanding. Sadly the waiter forgot to bring out the 3rd entree. It could have been a much better experience.

Excited to try this place. Food looks great in pictures and the place looks cute with Japanese decor. Walked in, hostess asked how many, 3 adults 1 dog so outside please. Seated. Waitress came, introduced herself and started talking about how her dog is also white and is at home. Her mom from Vietnam came to visit and her dog is sad because the attention is on her mom now. She asked what we would like to drink and she read out the non alcoholic drink menu. We ordered ice water for now since we were busy chatting and didn't get a chance to look at the menu. Hostess came back out and apologize to let us know that they do not allow dogs in their outdoor seating area. I had said to her, I had told you earlier 3 adults, 1 dog. Her reply, I thought you said daughter. We said ok and left. Hostess and waitress is well mannered.

Sushi is good. The salted chicken yakatori was a good appetizer. The chicken skin was another solid option.

Great neighborhood sushi spot

I want to enjoy dinner with my friend from other state, but waitress was rude. We were so upset. Hopefully the owner finds better hostess for his business.

first time and last time that I will arrive
The service is terrible, there is no customer service, I waited 30 minutes for the table and the food is not worth it, that's why it has a 4.0 :v

The food is amazing and has a wide variety of options for picky and adventurous eaters alike. Unfortunately, the two hostess are extremely rude. Every time that I have been they have a terrible attitude. For example, one time they forgot a part of my take out order but I had only realized once I got home. Once I made my way back to the restaurant—before I could even step in—they shove my forgotten order into my arms replying nothing but “thank you” and walked away. Not even a I’m sorry or eye contact. It’s just plain unacceptable.

I had the deep-fried skewers, miso soup, & chicken katsu w/curry. Everything was pretty good tasting, but the portion sizes are a tad small for the price.

Very authentic Japanese restaurant, arguably one of the best in Houston. And for the price you can’t beat it. Have been frequent here for years.

This is our new favorite Japanese restaurant in Houston. Everything we’ve gotten here is absolutely perfect.

The Renkon Hasami Age was a fun new dish for us. And the salmon skin hand roll was the best I’ve had.

The sashimi is top quality and the grilled skewers are delicious.

It seems like it can be difficult to get a table during rush times.

Food was authentic and tasted good but the round table we were seated at was very hot. Server was completely incompetent and was clearly only interested in getting us paid for and out— we also were not allowed to split on a party of 7 people that meant a forced 20% gratuity for a server I would have been generous to give 14% to.
