Went there for the first time three years ago and again this past month, and they consistently have the same service and food quality which is great. My only issue is I was trying to go there with one other person and I felt completely cramped because the chairs are so close together to where I'm basically in another couples personal conversation because I'm so close to them due to where the tables are placed. Besides that the food is great and it's priced super good but I just wish they'd stop trying to cramp people in.

Good find, had some really good food, and cold beers!

Sushi was just ok. Service was slow, we waited 10 minutes for someone to come to our table and bring menus.

The restaurant layout itself is pretty crowded and small, but I personally didn't mind it. It's more like a traditional Japanese setting, so I liked it. Because they were quite busy when we went, I had to keep asking to refill my water, and they kept forgetting orders or accidentally bringing other people's orders. The seaweed salad was good. Their tempura selection was very diverse, but I wish the dipping sauce it came in was more flavorful. For all of their fried options, the batter and the fry were very delicious and perfectly well made.Wheelchair accessibility: Because the seating is very tight, I find it hard for people who use wheelchairs to move around easily.

I mentioned my brother has allergies from the beginning and got recommended certain dishes that don't contain pork or fish. However half way through the meal a server mentioned all things are grilled together so it doesn't matter what you order, everything will get contaminated. There's no warning or clear understanding from wait staff that this is the situation. Extremely haphazard cleanliness and lackluster attitude from staff. I was told "you know you've come to a sushi restaurant?!", like it's my problem they can't make a beef dish without fish or pork involved.Dietary restrictions: Doesn’t care about allergies and won’t accommodate at all. Zero food options if you have any fish or pork allergies. Will mislead you about food options until after you’ve ordered.

Everything was absolutely delicious. Pricy for what it was but still delicious. More of a special occasion thing for me just based on price not atmosphere.

Great rolls (Memorial, Rainbow), loved tuna tar tar, great food for kids (chicken skewers, beef skewers).P.S. Came here with kids at 5:15 pm on a Saturday and grabbed the last available table.

Food is good but the take out process/service is beyond terrible. We take out from here about once a week. My average hold time on the phone is 15 minutes, if they ever even answer (many times we will call for 15 minutes with nobody picking up, so we order elsewhere). The curbside process was sloppy - they now have you go inside, which is probably an improvement, but their entire process of taking orders for takeout is beyond terrible. It's a shame because the food is good, but they must lose alot of business, and generally irritate people, with the terrible take out ordering process/service.

We loved this place!! The kimchi Japanese cucumbers, eggplant Nasu dish, and shishito peppers were sooooo good. The rainbow roll was pretty good but some fish pieces were a bit too chewy for me. The calamari was nothing special..i would pass on that next time. The salmon and yellow nigiri were pretty good but not stand out compared to other sushi I have had...also very large pieces of fish compared to avg sushi! Overall we loved the tapas style and will come back to try more of the Japanese style tapas! We had to wait for 30 min to get a table and went to ULTA to kill time...it took us 2 min to get back to the restaurant after we got the call our table was ready. Service was pretty good and quick! It's a bit crowded but you have enough space between tables to mostly privately talk. It's my new neighborhood sushi place!!

Solid sushi/ Izakaya spot in the Memorial area. This is the OG spot as well and much better than the River Oaks location. Plenty of sushi options and grilled skewers as well. The ambiance is a bit old school and it's always packed. Plenty of Japanese beers as well.

I’ve had sushi all over the country and didn’t think there was a huge difference in freshness at the top places, until I ate here. I don’t know what they do, but it caught me off guard with how fresh it was. This was a random recommendation and I’ll likely be returning next time I’m in Houston!
