Loved everything. If you dont try this place, you hate America. But no, seriously, the food here is well worth the drive. If and WHEN you go get the fried porkchop burger and some kool-aid. Not only that but the decor shows quite a bit about jazz and how this place has played a role throughout the years.
I’m sorry I didn’t get to take any pictures, but I had the catfish dinner and everything was flavorful. It comes with 2 pieces of catfish, fries, a nice size side salad and a garlic toast on the side. I added shrimp to my order which were also delicious. I would definitely come back and try the hamburger. It looked amazing. If you are in 5th ward, come check this place out. It is black owned and obviously well supported by the community!
If you’re not in a hurry, this is the place to go.My son has been having a lot of medical treatments that take is into new areas of Houston. We like to use Google maps to search out highly rated cuisine nearby. That is how we came upon J&J’s.The ladies that took our order were warm and greeted us with smiles and informed us that Tuesday all their burgers are on special.
