By far the best Ethiopian restaurant I have been to in Houston. The ambiance, food and service are phenomenal. I got the wrong order and the owner had no problem changing it.
Great vibes, fantastic atmosphere and stellar service!HOWEVER.....the portions for the pice is not it and not to mention the flavor wasn't there. I requested spicy, it was FAR from spicy and I take it them adding jalapeños was there way of making it "spicy".You can see in the photos how small the portions were.I spent a total of $118[Before Tip; Tip was $10 because I wasn't happy with the food portions]I even had to ask for more and of course I was charged.

The food portions were larger than I expected and plenty of injera was included. The veggie platter was delicious and the service provided by the waitress was exceptional.

This is hands down the best ethiopian restaurant in houston, very clean environment, the restroom ? .we've been few times for family and friends birthday everything was perfect ?. The service is phenomenal. Great ambitious we ordered 3 meat combo and 3 veggie combo the food is over the top delicious, doro wot amazing. We'll be back definitely for my sister birthday next month ?
Go and have one of the best food in town. This recently opened Ethiopian restaurant is managed by a young couple who has the sense of hospitality. I felt immediately at home, surrounded by Ethiopian art on the walls, rythmic music in the background and beautiful smiles. Food is a fantastic way to travel, and I did. Everything we ordered that day was to die for. We had the lamb tib, a delicious veggies combo, and freshly made injeera served with tej ;-)Visually, the presentation is very appealing and olfactively, omg!!!!I recommend you to go on the website and check the card and the gallery to have a better idea. They have a great and vast selection. If you like flavourful food, you will not be disappointed. THOSE WHO LOVE HOT FOOD NEITHER.Vegetarian options: Combo veggies is a wonderful and tasty option. Definitively you will go back, soooo goood!!!Parking: Big parking, no problem to find a spot
This was my first time trying Ethiopian food and Jano was fantastic! We got the veggie combo and a half-and-half meat plate (goat and awaze tibs) as well as some Ethiopian coffee at the end. The staff was also very helpful showing us how to eat the dishes with injera and gave some lovely information about their country and culture. Overall a lovely experience!
Y'all, this place is amazing! We got the vegetable combo and the Jano and Awaze meats, half goat and half lamb. My favorite was the Jano lamb.We didn't know anything when we went in, but the owner explained how we would eat with the injeera (crepe-like bread, gluten free b/c its Teff) and our fingers, and he helped us pick foods. He was so nice! Easy parking and accessibility (there's a ramb up to the curb from the parking lot). Very affordable for a simple first Ethiopian experience! Everything was a beautiful surprise.
One of my old friends is Ethiopian and her mom made THE best food. My family and I had previously gone to Blue Nile which was both overpriced and under-spiced lol. This restaurant however had the flavors that I remember and really poured on the seasoning! The waiter (who I believe was also the owner) was so helpful in helping us choose what items to order. Service was fast and food took a bit but nothing outrageously long considering we order SO much food.

My husband and I came to Jano because I was craving Ethiopian food. We came because of the great reviews and they were very accurate. Their food was the best Ethiopian food we've ever had. The flavors were all amazing. I can't begin to tell you what we had but I know we got a combo of the meat and another of the veggies. Both (all?) dishes were flavorful but unique from one another. We are looking forward to our next visit here already!
