Absolutely amazing first experience here! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I pulled up to the back door in a business park, but what I found inside did not disappoint. Their operation inside is impressive, with all of their roasting equipment and beans on full display. They had a wonderful selection of coffee, including a Swiss water decaf, which I’ve had trouble finding. When I purchased, I watched her package the beans, roasted earlier that day, in front of my eyes and add the appropriate stamps/labels to each bag. As far as the beans themselves, they are quite literally the best smelling beans I’ve ever encountered. Opening the bag at home gave the entire room the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee - heavenly! Plus, the beans are incredibly uniform with no over or under roasted beans included (a problem I’ve had with other local roasters). As you can see in the video, the beans made for a great espresso shot pull with an impressive crema and delicious, almost sweet and chocolatey flavor. Needless to say, this will be my new spot for fresh beans. Please go check them out and see for yourselves!

The first time I met Richard I was at his coffee roasting shop to do some work for him. He kindly gave me a tour and told me about their company and coffee. I have been returning ever since! Some of my favorite coffees are the Columbian Pink Borbon, Costa Rican Don Teofilo, the LaPastora Yellow Honey, Guatemalan Pacamara, Sumatran Boru Batak, and lastly, the Costa Rican Cascara coffee cherry! Stop by and meet the gang over there, try some coffee is Richard is around, and begin to enjoy some really good coffee! I'm actually on my way over there now to resupply!

Top tier coffee ! I’ve searched many brands across the city n in the stores. This one is the one. All their blends I’ve tried have a robust flavor that makes it into every sip. The beans are roasted properly, not burnt like the majority. It’s the only beans I buy for my pour over at home

My sister introduced me to this coffee 10+ years ago and it is the first time Inhad time to go there when I was in Houston to buy my own bag directly from them fresh!!!You can also buy at CentralMarket stores! Next time I get to Houston .,.I will be buying more directly from Java Pura!

The BEST place for coffee and coffee knowledge that I have found in Houston. This is a hands-on, working coffee outlet that sells freshly roasted and delicious coffee. I initially went to them to have some green beans roasted that I'd picked up on a trip, but found their coffee to be the freshest and best in Houston. The staff is super friendly and happy to talk coffee and explain their processes. Even the packaging shows their attention to detail with their bags printed with the roasting date as well as having a gas-release valve--high quality choices! All the coffee that I've bought from them has been fresh and delicious. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Java Pura for people who love great coffee, and especially if you like to know the background information and specific processes behind it.

Java Pura is easily one of the best roasters in Houston!! Their coffee is DELICIOUS and they truly care about the quality of their beans. We went to this location (they cannot sell coffee drinks to the public) and Billy, the head roaster gave us a mini tour and mini masterclass on coffee and roasting. We got to do a little tasting of roasts and picked one out to take home. As we are visiting Houston, Billy was kind enough to even tell us some of his other favorite roasters in the local area. I’ve gone to many roasters in all different cities to try new beans and this was by far THE BEST experience visiting any roaster. Billy and his roasting team were delightful to interact with and were so kind and generous to us. Good luck in the roasting tournament Billy! Can’t wait to try more of your guys’ roasts!

My hubby and I were searching for coffee beans in Houston and decide to head to Java Pura Coffee Roaster to buy coffee beans. We were pleasantly surprise to receive a tour from the staff and the owner, Richard. He is very passionate and knowledgeable on coffee. Also, He provided recommendations on coffee beans,which we really appreciate!! We also got to sample the expresso blend and we both agree that it taste fresh and the color of the coffee is a little more full than lighter roasts. I usually drink dark roasted coffee but the fresh medium roasted coffee bean here got me hooked! They do cater for weddings, corporate,& events too!! So, book them at your next event! Highly recommend!!
