This is one of my go to spots in Houston for great seafood and oysters. Everything on the menu is top notch, they never disappoint!

Service was good and attentive, but besides that quality was average at best.
Two key points:
1) The food was under salted, definitely lacking flavor.
2) They need to let the food rest before serving to the customers. I've never tasted something so scalding hot that I've had a burn in my mouth for the last week.

Really wanted to love this place but nothing special here. The food was underwhelming for the price point and the service was lacking.

Hostess was so nice and went out of her way to accommodate us coming in late with two small kiddos! Wait staff was great. We started with Red Fish Dip, then had fried oyster Po Boy sandwiches which came with lots of yummy fries, some else ordered Blue Crab Rice, and we also shared Mac n Cheese. Everything was so fresh and tasty and we all left stuffed!! We're from out of town but will definitely be back next time we're here!

Every single thing we ate was absolutely superb. Chef Lucas McKinney hails from Mississippi and is food is divine. From the time we entered until the time we left the service was impeccable. Our server, Jordan provided us with top tier service by expertly explaining each dish and providing a first class experience.

Came to Josephine’s for the first time celebrating our anniversary. Things were going well until we ordered a couple of appetizers. One in particular(chicken skewers) had a strain of long hair in it. We alerted the waiter who said he would let his manager know. Traditionally, the manager would come to the table and apologize or even offer to remove that item from the bill. None of that happened, no one apologized or addressed us or the issue. We ordered our meals eat and paid, including the appetizer with the hair. We will not be going back there for a lack of professionalism and courtesy.

Nice place, I had ordered the shrimp and grits until I noticed the shrimp had not been deveined. The chef kindly explained that not everyone deveins smaller shrimp. I do! I send it back and ordered the fried cat fridge. I do not eat ‘sand veins’.

The cocktails were delicious! Some of the food was excellent (jambalaya aracini, blue crab rice bowl) and some were meh (snapper collars needed some sort of sauce, like is served with hamachi kama at Japanese restaurants). I was annoyed there was a bunch of ice in my water after asking for no ice.

Great food, great drinks in the middle of Houston
I really hate I have to leave a review like this because I actually enjoyed this place. This was my second visit here at Josephine’s. Unfortunately, the bartender with the tattoos named Will made both experiences pretty uncomfortable. The first one wasn’t as terrible. He is pretty obnoxious, but fortunately for me I didn’t deal with him as my bartender the first time. This second time however, the bartender I did have who is named Max was amazing, very attentive, and also offered suggestions when it came to food as well as drinks.
There was a time when Max was not available, and I asked the only other bartender behind the bar which was Will for napkins. He decided to tell me I already have a napkin, referring to the linen napkin, and I told him “ I’d like the paper napkins” and he rudely said to me “well you need to say the black napkins if not you gone wait!”. I was so confused because I had only been to Josephine‘s one other time besides today, but I know a place as nice as Josephine’s would not condone this type of attitude towards paying customers. If you all do decide to go to Josephine’s because the food was amazing the drinks were good and the bartender Max was awesome. Just make sure that you steer clear of the bartender Will. Hopefully management can talk to their employee and get him on one accord with the rest of the staff at Josephine‘s because I haven’t had any issues with anybody else from the very first time he was the guy that was really rude and obnoxious but again my encounter with him was extremely limited, but today I felt terrible leaving that place. I honestly feel like I would never come back. I really hate to give you guys a low rating, but the way that I felt after spending money at this establishment and then being talked down to by an employee for just simply asking for napkins was terrible but the food was good and again shout out to Max because you were amazing!!!
The food is great, the service is 10, the cleanliness is 10.
The food is absolutely disgusting!!! The crab claws were nasty (that olive vinegar combination is tragic) and so were the roasted oysters. Those might be in the top two nastiest oysters I’ve had in Texas…and when I say top two, they aren’t even #2! The macaroni was literally macaroni soup…which I’ve never had in life. The waitress suggested we stir the macaroni and when we did, the cheese sauce became soupier like a water consistency. Take heed to this rating or set yourself up for a nice disappointment! We spent over $150 for two people and politely threw the food in the trash when we left the building as the food was inedible. I wouldn’t even give that food to a stray dog!
