Julep offers some of the most amazing & unique cocktails! Their whiskey selection is incredible and the ambiance is perfect for a date night or fun time with friends. Ample parking and valet available. We were not able to try their food as we were told the kitchen is closed on Sundays - however, this seems like a spot mostly for cocktails anyways. I would definitely go back so continue drinking my way through their extensive cocktail list.
Decent vibe and service. But they auto tip so be careful of your check
Awesome presentation on drinks.
The drinks here were excellent and the staff is so friendly. However, we were sat in the adjacent room which was kind of dead. The food also left a lot to be desired. Definitely a spot for drinks, but not dinner.
I discovered Julep on InKind and decided to give them a try after browsing the menu online .The host and bar staff were kind and seating at the bar was easy.
However, I had a frustrating experience with the lack of drink menu clarity and bartender communication. As someone who knows her old fashioneds, I always ask about the bourbon. The menu does not list specific spirits (only vague terms like “bourbon or rye whiskey”), which already felt a bit sketchy.
The bartender let me know their house old fashioned uses Old Forester—not my favorite—so I asked for Bulleit instead. He was nice, but clearly not a mixologist, and there was no mention of any upcharge.
The drink was fine (a 5/10 at best), but when my check arrived, I was surprised to see the price jump from the listed $16 to $22. I assumed gratuity had been added, but was told it hadn’t. Only then did I see they charged me $6 extra just for choosing a different bourbon.
The money isn’t the issue—it’s the lack of transparency. If you’re going to charge for substitutions, your staff should say that up front or list it clearly on the menu.
The experience left me feeling like the priority here was maximizing the bill, not customer clarity or experience. Because of that, I’m honestly unsure if I’d return or recommend.
Made a reservation at 7:30, had two drinks and at 8:20 was waiting on food when the manager approached our table and said we had 10 minutes to wrap dinner as the next reservation needed to be seated. Didn’t ask if we had all our food, didn't ask if we could move to the bar, just let us know that 50 mins was enough time for four people at their establishment. Bill was $411 so definitely not worth the experience for 50 mins.

Julep decore is a tacky vintage Christmas vibes. It’s quite cute. However, the service needs to increase in communication! Let your customers know they have an hour and half hour reservations only. Then people would not be upset to be ask to leave. How do you expect us to leave when our drinks haven’t even arrive yet when we order it since the beginning and you all forgot to get it? Please do better, especially the white man host with the suit. Maybe he’s manager but what type of manager with no customer skills?

Reservations only get you an hour and a half and it was so busy, some drinks never made it out to us
Cute Christmas bar. However, the service was significantly slow at a non-prime time slot. . The waitress was inattentive in response to the delay, and the host was non-welcoming and rude. Will not be back. Cute decor does not excuse bad service.

We had a reservation made weeks in advance, but the only place they could put our group was at the bar. That made it very difficult to share appetizers and even talk to each other. I think the experience might have been better if we had been seated. The food was good and the bar tender appeared to have made wonderful drinks but we left as soon as we could to go elsewhere.

Service was not good. The food was good, but it’s little appetizers that took forever to come out. We waited over an hour for a Charcuterie board. Then before we even got the board the waitress was telling us we were almost at the 90 minute mark for the reservation and needed to start wrapping up. The second we paid we were trying to figure out splitting the bill and were rudely told we needed to move out so they could clear the table. Like we were waiting on them for water drinks and food for so long and were shoved out the door . Over priced for what is being served. Christmas decorations were cute.

First off I’d like to say that I absolutely Loved Julep. Big emphasis on the LOVED. Great food, service and drinks top 3 in the city. Today I went and tried to sit at the bar, the bar had 4 seats open. I asked the attendant ON A WEDNESDAY December 18th if I could. He proceeded to ask if I had reservations. I said no but I’m happy to sit at the bar. He proceeded to tell me that the bar seats were “reserved” at the time I asked it was 9pm. I proceeded to ask at what time. His response was 10:30pm. I proceeded to tell him… I am happy to be out of the way by 9:45pm. He proceeded to say after escorting my Fiance and myself to a table where we would be sitting inch to inch next to someone else “ we cannot serve you tonight.” I have never been more disappointed in the fact that I used to consider this the best bar in the city of Houston. I will never be coming back due to this. It is absolutely ABSURD to not allow people to sit at the bar. Saying this Julep has always been absolutely perfect but this situation literally left a bad taste.

I wouldn’t come here for their Christmas pop up. We had reservations for 8 people at 8:45. When we got there they said they didn’t have any open tables but to give them about 20 minutes. Checked back after 20 minutes, said they had a table for 5…..we had 8 people…..waited another 20 minutes. 45 minutes later we were finally seated. Not sure why I bothered to make a reservation. THEN they told us that our reservation was going to end after an hour and a half which is normal but the fact that we didn’t get seated until 45 minutes after the reservation and then they told us our time was expiring? No. I would go somewhere else for fun Christmas vibes
