Very pleasant experience. Well portioned, great atmosphere, and courteous staff. Great for a date night.

Dietary restrictions: They did ask if either myself or my guest had any allergies.

By far the best japanese food i’ve had in houston!
We went at 1pm on a saturday and were seated rapidly in the sunroom, i will say because of the windows it gets a little chilly
our server was very attentive and good at explaining any questions we had
our food was also high quality and came out incredibly fast, i esp liked that the server that brought our food would state the name of the dish and say the key ingredients
my bf and i ordered
- miso lobster mac n cheese
- side of shrimp tempura and sticky rice
- longhorn roll (comes w eight rolls)
- green tea soufflé cheesecake w/ red bean ice cream
we were so stuffed afterwards!!
the mac and cheese was very rich and the lobster def raised it to a gourmet level
the shrimp came w a sauce that added so much flavor paired with the sticky rice, it was so savory
the longhorn roll is definitely my new favorite roll and was my favorite thing here, the sauce and avo flavors added so much dimension and the eggs added a crunch, it goes without saying but the fried shrimp was perfect
lastly i loved the cheesecake! it was a bit warm and it paired perfectly with the red bean ice cream which was sweet but i couldn’t really look past tasting the beans themselves as their bean consistency threw me off (this was my first time trying them)
overall i had high expectations and im ecstatic to say they were met above and beyond!! all the food was 11/10 and soo worth the price! i will definitely be back

$- we payed 77 for two people + tip :)

Best Japanese in Houston. Tonkatsu Ramen (weekday lunch only) is to die for. Consistently one of the best restaurants in Houston!

High end sushi restaurant with a large selection of different entrees. My fiance and I visited. Her favorite was the East coast oyster + caviar. My favorite was the teriyaki skewers.

As a loyal customer of over 10 years, I am deeply disappointed with recent changes at this restaurant. The removal of the sashimi bento box from the lunch menu is frustrating. Additionally, the refusal to take phone orders, forcing customers to use an unreliable online system that shuts down 30 minutes before lunch ends, is inconvenient. The Kobe beef bowl's quality has also declined significantly, with fewer and thinner beef slices vs the cube..... it's 1/4 the beef amount of the past so don't order it and price on it increased!!!These changes reflect a noticeable drop in quality and service. I will be exploring other sushi options in Houston that value their customers' loyalty and satisfaction.

I was invited by family members while I was visiting from STL. I already knew that I was going to enjoy the dining experience from browsing the menu and reviews online but nothing could have prepared me for the amazing evening that I was about to enjoy. The food was impeccably prepared and the presentation matched the taste. I honestly believe the true star of the evening was the service. Our server was what you would call a true service professional. His energy and attentiveness was perfectly paired with his knowledge. Without writing a novel, all I can say is please don't miss out on this place. You'll be very impressed.

The sushi here is really high quality but don’t skip out on the non sushi items as they are really amazing as well. We had the Kobe sandwiches and the milk bread was so soft and delicious it just enhanced the experience of eating the soft beef. The sushi was really high quality and the toro was amazing.

Kobe skewers are top notch!! Ramen is probably the best we've had in the entire Houston area - the broth is rich and not too salty, and the noodles are cooked perfectly. Sushi and sashimi are great! No complaints at all.

Staff moves quickly and efficiently. We've come back here so many times and we are never disappointed.

Kata Robata offers some of the freshest sushi and sashimi in Houston, making it one of the best Japanese restaurants in the city. While the interior design might not be the most impressive, the service and expertise of the staff are truly first-class. Highly recommended for an exceptional dining experience.
