All the food was so rich and flavorful. The pork shu mai was so buttery and wonderfully fatty. The king crab sando was so rich with the bechamel sauce and garlic bread like taste. The toro tartar was so good with the mushrooms. The stone mushroom rice was just hearty and warming. All the rolls were so good- we got the sake chili roll and the lobster one. The apple bread pudding was to die for- so so so good

The ingredients used were good quality and server was attentive. However, the flavor of the dishes and decor/overall ambience of the store were not as good as kata robata. For example, mushroom is really not a good substitute for takuan in wagyu yakimeshi.

I just want to thank Alex G, our server. His customer service was impeccable. He was very knowledgeable and never pressured us into anything. We were blessed to have him. I’ll add that it was our wedding anniversary, and we had our 7-month-old with us. Alex was very accommodating, which was amazing that made it so easy to be there. Exceptional from start to finish! We went here on a Friday evening and did have reservations which I would highly recommend as this place fills up and for good reason. Everything from the wait staff to the decor was absolutely top-tier. The sushi was incredible and we tried several dishes and everything was excellent. Some of my favorites were the crab sandos and the chopped scallop nigiri. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back, definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in Houston.

Katami is top notch. Highly recommend the daily specials and or let the server guide you through their favorites. It’s not cheap, so be prepared for that but it delivers. Fun surprise, the shaved ice was a great way to finish the meal. You have to order it to understand.

I have been looking forward to eating here for quite some time and had the opportunity to recently.
Being a huge fan of kata robata I knew this place had some big shoes to fill and it did not disappoint.
Everything I had was delicious. The sashimi and nigiri were fresh and the chirashi bowl was easily the best chirashi bowl I have ever had in my life.
Pricing is on the higher end of sushi but you definitely get what you pay for and I would for sure be back here.

Heard good things about this place. Decided to go there for our anniversary. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant (that’s what we wanted). We waited, waited and waited for a good 20 minutes and no one asked us for anything. Even though the restaurant was not busy at all. A few servers walked by the table but no one came to ask for our order or drinks.
We decided to leave and went to Uchi. The place we love for their service and food.
