We are there yesterday and it was the most disappointing lunch I have ever had. I ordered a half sandwich (club) poor presentation, poor tasting, turkey was bundled up in one side, burnt bacon pieces. The chicken fried steak was chicken instead of beef and mainly batter. The onion rings were also battered up. The mgr. I think he was. Came out with his tail shirt out , no smile. Very unprofessional, but most of all I was disgusted over the waiter, not attending to us. He was at the bar area speaking to a lady for at least 30 mins. We got no drink refills, a bad experience. They had to get the waiter over to our table for the bill. I wanted to have a restaurant I could go to at anytime since it’s open 24 hrs.

Our server could not decide if she wanted to chat and flirt with one of the busboys or come check on her customers. Her manager came over and asked how we were and noticed that our drinks were low. The manager left and then returned with tea and water pitchers and proceeded to fill our drinks. As she was coming to the table with the pitchers she walked right in front of the girl and the busboy as they were chatting. I almost spit my food out trying not to laugh. And wow, two seconds after the manager filled our drinks, guess who was checking on our table. The server did tell us that today was literally her first day on the floor which is why so did not know what kind of soup was being served or what was in the garden salad. I figured this was not going to be my Goldstar visit to Katz's.

Poppin! Visited both locations during my brief stay in Houston. Food & Service and the atmosphere was on dial! Reasonable prices with a smile 😊 Please all respect your servers and remember to tip well!
Katz’s is definitely a place to come hungry because you’ll leave absolutely full and satisfied! The food portions are huge, and everything is packed with flavor. We started with their slaw and pickles, and they were the perfect way to kick off the meal. I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and cream gravy on the side, plus creamy spinach, all perfectly seasoned and delicious. My mother had the shrimp and sausage pasta and couldn’t stop raving about how good it was. We’ll definitely be back!

The waitress yesterday twice brought me a stained dirty cup of coffee. I asked her to change, she brought me the same dirty cup again. It is just unacceptable. Atmosphere is okay. Food is okay. Not coming back.
