Had a great time at the bar at Alora, truly a hidden gem in Montrose. We stopped by for some quick bites before heading to the Rodeo, and everything was fantastic. The Octopus Anticucho was to die for, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I ordered the Lemongrass Lime Fizz mocktail, which was incredibly refreshing, and my sister had the Lychee Chilcano… wow, what a drink!
We finished with the Picarones with extra Lucuma Caramel sauce for dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending. Great drinks, delicious food, and such a cool vibe at the bar. Can’t wait to come back to try other things on the menu!

Most dishes were good but the side of stir-fried veggies ruined the meal. It wasn’t stir fried, it was too spicy, and was root vegetables plus some onion.
Too bad.
The drink selection was very good, the pork chop fantastic, and the ceviche good; albeit not served in the proper dish.
Felt very Peruvian. Not a bit Vietnamese. Nothing really fused here.

The value for the money you get at Alora is top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the dishes we tried and wished we had room to try a few more. I also really enjoyed my cocktail. We brought our 6 month old and it looked like there were several other families with kids about the same age. The wait staff was really nice. Overall, can’t wait to come back!

Alora is a gem, a 10/10 spot of Montrose Houston- we love it here. The neighborhood is of course untouchably nice, and the areas around it are well kept so it’s comfortable to even dine outside on a night out. Calm, or busy, this place is quality. We loved Kau Ba so we tried Alora yesterday. The food was fine but the cleanliness of the restaurant is not good. There was a roach on the table next to us that we had to point out to the server. He removed the napkin it was on but not the plate under it. There was food all over the floor around us. I had high hopes but was disappointed.
The potatoes with aji sauce were simple and delicious!

So so so tasty and a great value for the price, especially on happy hour. Delicious cocktails, especially the “cup of tea” cocktail, which knocked my socks off. Really cute interior and fantastic service. Good veggie options too. If you haven’t dropped in yet, you are missing out! Montrose- please support this business! You will not regret it.

We came to Alora for dinner and absolutely loved it! We ordered the Vietnamese noodle bowl, anticucho, and pork chop - every dish was amazing and beautifully presented. The cocktails were incredibly creative and paired perfectly with the meal. The restaurant itself is gorgeous with a great vibe. Truly a hidden gem in the Montrose area. Highly recommend!
