Decided to stray from our normal Vietnamese place because they had so.e great looking menu items. Unfortunately, we were not impressed. Ordered tea and water and the "soft shell" crab and scallops as appetizers. The crab arrived, and there was nothing soft about it. We expected small crabs that had molted, but these were tiny baby crabs, hard as rocks. Saw other tables eating them, but I don't see how you can eat crab shells. We then got our entree - shaking beef. It was good, needed veggies. Not the best I've had but decent. Finally, our baby scallops arrived. They were good, but nothing special - very small for the price. Finally, the iced tea arrived, so we didn't get refills by that time. Very overpriced for the portions, in my opinion. Had to sit at the bar because we didn't have reservations (no problem), but after our meal, that just kind of blew my mind. Except for the crab, Kau Ba wasn't bad, but there are much better choices in Houston.Parking: Small lot with very few spaces. Difficult to get out of.

The service here is all over the place. One night we came in and 3 different people came to take our dinner order after it had already been placed. That was unusual because we usually have to wait forever for a server to come by. The only consistency is the time it takes them to make drinks. First, you have for the waiter to come by and then it takes them about 30 minutes to actually make the drink. We kept coming here because the food is incredible and we love the patio. But last night I found some sort of plastic packaging with a bar code mixed in with my pho... I didn't find it until I was packing up my leftovers, and thought that was pretty gross. We really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately we will not be back.

Came here to celebrate my brother’s birthday and it was a perfect experience. We love the food but their staff was the real highlight. Had Doan Thuc as our waitress and she was the sweetest person ever. The Vietnamese host (we forgot to ask for his name) was so funny and brought us delicious complementary avocado ice cream for our birthday boy and sang happy birthday with us.Food wise Kaupaccio was an amazing appetizer and we really enjoyed the other six dishes as well. Every item had some creative tweaks from their traditional version and was done right. Their food are generally low carb and healthy and strangely this dinner didn’t kick me out of ketosis the next day.Very happy we picked this restaurant for the night. Highly recommended!

Came here late at night and sat outside, it was a little cold but they had heaters to keep us warm. The pork belly fried rice was the best thing I got. The appetizers were also great! The I got a cucumber cocktail because the menu said I could add chili oil for a dollar to make it spicy, but when it came put it looked like they had only put a few drops in the drink which didn’t make it spicy at all ?. The “texas brisket pho” wasn’t really all that, just normal, relatively unseasoned brisket, I dont really know what made it “texan”. Overall a great experience, but I wouldn’t order the pho if I went again.

The flavors were great, however there were no veggies with the dishes, so we were glad to have ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer. We all left feeling overly bloated, which is odd for us with Vietnamese food. We ordered the Shaking beef, a tofu dish, and the Brussels sprouts and shrimp for the table of 3. Great flavor, odd fullness and lack of veggies. It was quiet inside and also muggy, so little difference between the patio in terms of temperature. Perhaps they need a better door? 3-4 out of 5.

Great neighborhood restaurant with a good dependable menu. There are not as many vegetarian meals as in would like, but the food is good and the outdoor patio is lovely with the good weather.

Very delicious food. Different from any Vietnamese restaurant I've dined at. Nice atmosphere. Good drinks too. Chef stopped by tables and was very interested in ensuring we enjoyed the meal.

The shrimp fried rice is probably the best fried rice I've had in a while. Parking is pretty difficult in such a residential, busy area but the food is worth it.

When we arrived for our reservations we were unable to find the restaurant. It is important in a city like Houston to mention on the website that there is NO parking

Its sad to have to leave a bad review, because the food was delicious. The service, unfortunately, not so much. Walked in the restaurant at about 2 pm, to grab lunch. Wasn't greeted by non of the employees that were present -.- Even though the restaurant was empty. Didn't fee welcomed at first, so i sat on the waiting chairs to wait for somebody to notice me, even though they all looked at me. Eventually, after i was seated, the waitress was very polite. As i was eating people started to arrived and they were greeted and seated right away, which made me feel even worse. Like i said the food was great. Service was horrible. Restaurant was clean, and very nicely decorated.

Please go here. I've been a dozen times, and the most recent visit made me wish I could leave 6 stars. Please order the brussel sprouts. The Pho Tai Lan with gold medal steak aged in Hennessy will blow your mind. We also had grilled pork belly over rice that was the best pork belly I've ever had. This restaurant, in a city full of great restaurants, truly stands above.
