All bread we had was good especially pork bun. Not too strong taste but savory is there with soft bun. A staff is so nice. Sorry we forgot cash and took a while to finish our order. Definitely come back again.

The bbq bun is really good. A must try Chinese bakery in Houston Chinatown. If you wanna eat the Chinese steam bbq bun, you have to go really early becoz it is very limited and they ran out within two hours of their opening. The price is affordable. Plus, they only accept cash so don’t forget to bring some cash.

If you ever watch the TV show, diners, drive-ins, and dives this is definitely the category of a dive it probably at one point had people that would sit there and eat the bakery goods however, now it’s basically people that grab it to go note you need to bring cash. This place does not accept any kind of plastic. It is cash only. The prices are an appropriate price point. The flavors are fresh and delicious even at the option today that they had some leftover steamed barbecue buns that I could take home and steam myself there they were cold but totally worth it.
The atmosphere is rundown although you’re gonna grab this to go.

Be patient in parking in this retail strip mall can get very busy although there is a two or three story parking garages next-door.

Almost always a line and fingers crossed you got what u came for. Best Chinese bakery. Special order bo luo bao char sui and their peaches. My fave is the buo lo bao with fillings. If u get there in the morning, all the old Chinese men are just having coffee and chatting. It's great! Order ahead to make sure you get what you want.

Agree with the other poster that they make the best pinapple bun. I also really like the filling in the bbq pork bun as it’s not too fatty or sweet like other bakeries. Don’t be alarmed by the empty shelves they churn out buns and if you’re lucky you’ll get some fresh from the oven! The beef curry bun and pineapple bun with coconut are also amazing! Take the buns and sit outside on the communal benches on the lawn.
The bake goods are exactly what you would envision if you visited a bakery from the old days. The owner at King bakery is very friendly, walk in any morning and you will find a table full of regulars drinking coffee and solving the world's problems. Must try are the BBQ bun, butter and coconut filled (cocktail) bun and curry beef bun.

Missable delicious bakery for authentic Chinese bread. I regret not coming here earlier this year, prices are fair and the bread is the delicious. Downside is cash only. If you work nearby and you get there around 8 like I do, the bread is still warm. I usually get the roast pork bun, or loose pork bun, and my mom gets the pineapple.
