Kira is a certified hit! I did the 7 course chef's tasting and every course was delicious. The lobster hand roll was hands down my favorite, the shitake mushroom hand roll was my least favorite (it wasn't bad , it just wasn't as good as the other rolls). The dessert was also really delicious. I definitely reccomend checking Kira out if you like high end sushi.

Came to celebrate my birthday with some friends and had the absolute best time with amazing food, service, and wine. We did the 7 course chef's selection and were pleasantly surprised by the premium selections in it! This is definitely one of Houston's best restaurant openings.

The comfort & flow of the dining experience here is so relaxed as to appear effortless or nonchalant. Our 90 minute chef curated meal revealed a professional staff that is operating as if they had been doing it for a long time. The staff is clearly well trained in the techne of their craft, but everyone was so warm & friendly as if we were long time regulars revealing a keen understanding of top notch hospitality. The food, well...we loved it all, but the lobster hand roll with seaweed hollandaise was my favorite. The wine list is small, but well curated. Everything seems so well considered; the hefty flatware, the cloth menu holders (and coasters) the plates & bowls....beautiful without seeming "precious" or remotely pretentious. Clean bathrooms & comfortable chairs, but the highlight for me is the "killer" sound system ( High end Macintosh equipment no less). I can't wait to come back & see what the latest offerings are. 5☆☆☆☆☆

Kira means glittery in Japanese, and this omakase certainly shines for its amazing dishes, atmosphere, and service. Omakase can be translated as "I'll leave it up to you", so we ordered the pre-selected 7 courses meals by the chef. Thus, we had the honor to taste the visually beautiful and exquisite seasonal dishes prepared meticulously by a perfectly coordinated team in front of us. Every penny was worth it. We had a Vouvray Brut Domaine Pichot, Clos St Mathurin, crisp as we love it, to start our journey. We opted for a Spanish Basque wine then, but they also had a few other whites interesting options on the wine card. I enjoyed the interaction we had with our shokunin, and the fact I was handed rolls of fresly delivered raw delicacies among other succulent dishes served in a refined Japanese tableware.
We had a marvellous evening, and when we were not conversating, we were commenting the surrounding pieces of art on the walls, or simply watching the kitchen ballet on the other side of the bar, listening to the great music floating in the air.
Thank you all!

Kira is a true gem in Houston’s dining scene, offering exquisite Japanese cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. From our arrival, the staff was incredibly accommodating, making us feel at home despite our traffic delay.
We began with beautifully crafted temaki—Maguro, Maikate, and Hotate—each a perfect balance of fresh ingredients. The highlight was the chef’s selection sashimi, showcasing masterful cuts and incredibly fresh flavors.
The personable chefs and attentive staff made the experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance, with curated art and music, creates a beautiful & delicious dinning experience
Kira isn’t just a place to eat; it’s an experience to savor. Kira is a must-visit for a memorable dining experience in Houston

We really enjoyed Kira’s service and atmosphere but the food was quite underwhelming for the Neo brand.
i tried the Masu, Maguro, Hotate, Ebi, Maitake, Tarabagani and Uni temaki, but would really only recommend the Masu (Ocean Trout, the smoke flavor was a nice touch), Ebi (Sweet Shrimp combined with garlic and avocado was interesting) and Tarabagani (King Crab, the sauce was great).
The A5 Wagyu Donburi was a letdown. There wasn’t any unique spin to it and the meat was too salty when eating with the already seasoned rice (but to be fair, rice was perfectly seasoned)
The Madai Crudo was interesting with the slightly spicy sauce. The Maguro Crudo had potential, but too much ponzu sauce made it too salty.
Dessert was great, I definitely would recommend.

Having dined at Neo a few times, we were excited to try out Kira. As other reviewers had mentioned, great vibes, amazing food, and impeccable service!
The $50 happy our special consisted of a crudo, 4 pre-determination hand rolls (scallop, masu, lobster, mushroom) and dessert. Each and every hand roll was delicious! Being that both the two of us ordered the HH special, we were able to try both flavors of kakigori, a fruit flavored one and one that was hazelnut. Omg so good!
All the wait staff and chefs were super attentive, and the dining environment (especially vinyl music) made the experience even better.
Parking is free, which is a nice plus. Pro tip the restaurant doesn't have any major signage in front, but it's not too hard to locate from the parking garage.
Parking: Garage in the same shopping area.

We got the 7 course chef’s selection for a special occasion and it was incredible! I especially loved the “lox bagel” and the lobster handrolls. We loved all the details: high quality wooden counter, beautiful vintage earthenware sake cups and the old fashioned hand shaved ice. Jazz and R&B records were played over a sophisticated sound system and created a listening room experience. The minimalist design of the space heightened the impact of the art on the walls.

Beautiful restaurant serving delightful bites of handrolls, crudo, and donburi. Quite possibly the best shaved ice dessert that I’ve ever had as well.

One of my best meals of the year for me. This place is an instant classic! The talented chefs and owners have nailed the concept from food, atmosphere and service. Really cool to see the company grow into a new concept. My favorite thing was the Maguro and Lobster hand-rolls.
