My husband, Chris, who is Vaughn’s cousin, and I dropped in to check him out, and WOW! We had the shrimp and grits, and let me tell you… my, my, my, absolutely the best in the north, south, east, and west!

I had the Louisiana Tex-Mex Brunch Bowl, Irish cream sweet tea, and some authentic delicious Coleslaw. I do not like Coleslaw, but this one is one of a kind d delicious! If there was anything left of what I ordered, I would’ve posted a pic of how beautiful that dish was. I came in and got the Loaded Baked Potato… MAAAAAAAAANNNNNNN OXTAIL, SHRIMP, CRAWFISH, CREAM SAUCE… I should repent to God, the way that I ate that food. I’m staying at a Airbnb not too far and I stopped at two different restaurants prior… noooo good.
I pulled up to the restaurant and I was a bit taken back but once I walked into the doors of this establishment, I quickly understood the vibe, and the culture of this place. The ambiance, the music, the food… man… I’m coming back to get another one! This time, I’m coming to sit down and enjoy it… and order a few more things on the menu!

My family had an amaziiiiiing experience at Kreyol Ya Ya’s and are already looking forward to our next visit!! From the loving hospitality, to the delicious food, and even the amazing playlist of songs that played while we were there, our time at Ya Ya’s truly felt like we were visiting a relative from our hometown in our home state of Louisiana!
The chef and owner made sure that we felt welcomed when we arrived, made sure that we were well tended to as we waited on the food and cooked each dish to perfection! The pasta was creamy and flavorful as well as the shrimp and grits that came with a piece of catfish that was fried to perfection!
My family also enjoyed the red beans and rice, catfish poboy, gumbo, and beignets that were so pillowy and delicious!! We were all so thankful to have had such an amazing Sunday dinner together in a spot that felt like home away from home!

My total experience was just okay. The service was the worst that I've ever had. It took 2 1/ 2 hours to get our food! It was a one man show. One cook, one waitress, one bartender. I'm giving them a 3 star because the food wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, based on the service. I ordered wings & waffles, but I was served baked chicken & waffles, although it wasn't too bad, it wasn't what I wanted, so If you have 3 hours to waste, I recommend the fried fish.

Although it is a small and quaint place, the food was worth the wait, the music was awesome and the staff were very friendly. I ordered the wings and waffles and was expecting the wings to be fried but received the most deliciously baked wings with red velvet waffles which was different but delicious. The bellini and mimosas were great as well. I can tell Chef Vaughn takes pride in his cooking because all of the dishes I observed looked so mouthwatering. My suggestion is that you pack your patience when you go because the food will not disappoint.
