Love love love this wine and beer bar. Always great interesting people in here. This bar has such history and charm. Great little place for an intimate date or just to have a relaxed evening. The upstairs patio offers a great place to sip wine and people watch. The staff is friendly and inviting.

Most probably one of the cheapest bars in Houston centre. Pint is around 5 dollars where other places 7+. Full of locals, great atmosphere. Recommend Maharaja beer - double IPA 10%!

I was thrilled to finally visit this place that I had heard so much about. It was supposed to be haunted by ghosts and spirits, and I love a good scare. I was in the area and decided to stop by for a drink. The place looked amazing, like a scene from a horror movie. There were candles dripping wax and old-fashioned furniture. The bartender welcomed me and I told her how excited I was to be there. I snapped some pictures to remember the moment. I sat down and checked out the menu. I usually go for whisky, but I wanted to try something different. I asked her if she had any wine recommendations. I noticed that I was the only customer at the bar. She told me that I should go to their other location instead, where they had more options. I said that I didn't mind experimenting, but she insisted. I was disappointed that I couldn't enjoy something new and get into the spooky mood.

Was in there last night. Bartender middle aged lady was under the influence of something, walking around like a zombie, couldn’t get a second drink. Even tried to flag her down to tell her the shiner boch tap handle was left running and he wouldn’t acknowledge us even to tell her that! Watch maybe half a keg drain out onto the kegerator. Bizarre experience at a place that has potential!l she was so aloof that the beer was splashing up onto her and she still had no idea

Great atmosphere very retro so if you are into that, this will be a luxury for you. I got 2 ciders (since I'm not a fan of bear) they were DELICOUS. I will post a picture of the exact ones I got. They ran me about 5 bucks each which made it very affordable for leisure drinking. Would recommend this spot for sure if you are chilling and want to catch a vibe.P.s. I didn't attempt to order food so don't know how that is or if they are serving it still
Nice relaxed bar. Great jukebox and nice atmosphere. Shame they don't sell bourbon but can't have everything.

This building has been around since the mid-1800s, and I'm a sucker for any spot with history! This spot is beer and wine ONLY and offers munchies such as chips or crisps, depending on the noun of your preference. It's a cool spot to go and chill while enjoying a cold beer or a glass of wine. Yes, some of the wines and beers offered are local. There are two levels to this location, and both offer a very cool atmosphere as there are various oddities surrounding the interior. There is patio seating on both levels, which offers nice calming views. This spot is rumored to be haunted, but I can neither confirm or deny the rumors. Stop in, take a load off, and relax. Perhaps you may have a paranormal time? Or, if anything, enjoy a good time with good people and a cool atmosphere!

What a great place! It is very small, but not overly crowded. The upstairs patio was just perfect for looking out over Market Square. We were pleasantly surprised with the drink prices on Saturday night. $3 beer pint???? Unreal. The decor is perfect to take you back to beginnings of Houston, but warning... those stairs are a challenge after a few drinks!!! We don't live close by, but it would be stop anytime I'm in the area.
