Stopped by twice for crawfish and shrimp last week. First visit was great—flavor and texture were on point. Second time was very different. Both the crawfish and shrimp were overcooked. The meat fell apart and kind of crumbled when peeling.

They really need more consistency. When it’s good, it’s good. But it shouldn’t depend on the day.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. We ordered dinner and specifically ordered my son a HALF basket (2) of chicken tenders. Our food came out, but 20 minutes later his tenders still hadn’t arrived. After asking twice, they finally brought food out—but it was a FULL basket (5) that we never ordered.

Then comes the real problem. When the check arrived, we were charged for the full basket. I told the server we ordered the half. Instead of fixing it properly, she asked for my child’s plate back after he had already eaten from it. I watched her put on a glove, remove THREE tenders from my son’s basket, take them back into the kitchen, and then return the basket to us with ONE tender left.

This is disgusting, unsanitary, and completely unacceptable. Food that has already been served to a table—especially to a CHILD—should NEVER be taken back into the kitchen, let alone reused. The lack of basic food safety and professionalism is alarming.

Long wait, wrong order, incorrect charge, and a shocking health violation. Management should be ashamed. We will never return and I strongly warn others to think twice before eating here.

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for more than five years and have always appreciated the quality of the food and service. However, today I experienced an unexpected situation with some of the staff, as their behavior was disrespectful and unprofessional, which is not acceptable for a restaurant with a good reputation or for a long-time customer.

The restaurant was nearly empty (about 70%), so there was no pressure that could justify such treatment. Unfortunately, this experience made me reconsider coming back, and I will not visit this restaurant again, because good customer service should always come before anything else.

I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the level of customer service.

This review is long overdue. I used to love LA Fisherman First time I visited was back in 2021 or 2022. I would go out of my way to drive out here because the boiled shrimp was everything.

Food: Previously, I used to eat in but the wait for tables was always too long. We would go on weekends because the 3pm weekday opening time isn't conducive to drive out there right before rush hour...I digress. The shrimp was always plump, fresh and delicious. I could never finish my lb so I'd take home most of my order. I would warm up my leftovers days later and the shrimp would be firm.
Fast forward to 2024, I ordered to go and when I got home every shrimp was MUSHY. As a pescatarian, I was told that must shrimp means it's not fresh. I remember thinking it was probably a fluke. I found another chain with more reasonable hours and I was so turned off by that experience, I took a break from LA Fisherman but the delicious sauce was always on my mind. I placed another to go order and it was exactly the same experience so I stopped ordering boiled shrimps. My family like the mussels and fried alligator so occasionally, I would still drive out there.

My last visit was the 2nd week of December and we were going to be by the restaurant so everyone decided to order. I decided I'd get the boiled shrimp... time had caused me to almost forget but I remembered how I had thrown out the shrimps the last few times. So, I made sure to mention that I didn't want mushy shrimp. The guy who took my order was very helpful. He suggested that the problem was that by the time I got home, the shrimp was overcooked. He said they wouldn't cook the shrimp all the way so it wouldn't be mushy by the time I got home. I applaud his efforts but I had already done research that said the shrimps were mushy because they have probably been thawed and refrozen a few times.

I indulged him. When I got home, the shrimp were still MUSHY.😭😭😭 Another lb of shrimp in the trash. The rest of the food was fine (the mussels and alligator).

Moral of my story, I don't order boiled shrimp to go! I have this theory that when you eat in, you get the freshest product and the suckers who order to go are stuck with mushy shrimp! I'm yet to test this theory so don't quote me lol.

Service: they are usually courteous and helpful.

This is the best seafood in the city the staff are very nice and very friendly they are quick with the service. When full they still manage to get your food on time .
The flavor of the food is very high quality even when its not crawfish season. I highly recommend

Massively overrated seafood spot in Houston. I honestly don’t understand the hype. The food was low quality and poorly prepared — the crawfish was mushy, overly salty, and tasted far from fresh. Choosing a spice level is pointless when everything comes out tasting the same and lacking real flavor.

Service was frustratingly slow and unprofessional. Staff looked irritated when asked basic questions, orders took forever, and mistakes were made without any attempt to fix them or apologize.

It feels less like hospitality and more like a cash grab.

For the prices they charge, this is unacceptable. There are plenty of better seafood spots in the city that offer fresher food, better service, and basic respect for customers. Definitely not coming back.

My group and I come to this restaurant 3 times a week, spending over $600 every visit with 4–6 people. We are regular customers who bring real business to this place, yet today we were treated with complete disrespect and kicked out by the manager.

All we did was ask a simple question about the food quality, especially because last Saturday the mussels we were served were BAD and tasted spoiled. Instead of addressing our concern professionally, the manager became rude, aggressive, and told us to leave.

The customer service here is horrible. The staff acts arrogant and disrespectful, especially when the restaurant is busy. They think just because they have a lot of customers, they can treat people however they want and throw them out without reason. That is NOT how you run a business.

If you care about being treated with respect, do NOT come here. Loyal customers mean nothing to this place. Plenty of other restaurants appreciate customers instead of abusing them.

I will never return and will make sure others know how poorly we were treated.

The food was very okay, sausage and shrimp were over cooked and the shrimp was not even split down the middle making it hard to peel. Not sure if it’s because the change of management or what but very mid, nothing like the other location.

Nastiest place I have ever been to. Rude servers. Don’t recommend. They don’t even have gloves. “Manager” said “even our chef doesn’t use gloves” gave us fake names. They called us “trash”!
