We have been here a couple of times before and decided to celebrate my pop's 86th bertday here. We had some family come in from out of town and La Lucha showed out strong! First, our server Idris (stretch), was amazing with his ability to wrongly the 7 of us never skipping a beat. But also, had great suggestions and explanations of the food. Dumplings are a must get as are the Redfish on the half shell, Fried Chx AND DA BURGER! BRAVO, LA LUCHA!

Cool place, really good vibe, but the food was just ok. Their seasonal crawfish bread was mid, the wings were solid, the oysters were fire, and the tacos were better versions of Jack in the box tacos. The service was lacking though so we probably won't be back. Too many places in this area to choose from for mid food and inattentive service.

I had an amazing experience at La Lucha! The service was friendly and attentive. I tried the oysters, fried shrimp, biscuits, and fried chicken, and I must say, this combo truly offered a bit of everything and it was all delicious. I recommend sitting on the patio; it has fantastic tables with shade and a nice private fence for added ambiance. I can't wait to return with my mom—she's going to love it! Ask waiter stretch

recently visited La Lucha after seeing so much hype about it on TikTok and reading great reviews, so I was really excited to try it. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the expectations.
Our server was very nice and provided great service, which we definitely appreciated. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed experience. I ordered the half chicken and found it to be very salty and quite greasy. On the positive side, the biscuits with jam were absolutely delicious and easily one of the highlights of the meal. I also tried the roasted oysters and they were really good.
My sister and mom both ordered the burgers, but they unfortunately fell apart while eating them, so they ended up having to eat them with a fork. We also got seated outside in the dirt. They need to make more accommodating seating perhaps adding turf or something so that shoes don’t get dirty.
Overall, while there were a couple of items we enjoyed, the main dishes didn’t quite meet the expectations we had based on the hype.
Arturo was very knowledgeable, kind and courteous. He had the best oyster recommendations and we got the best oysters we’ve had in Houston. This was our first time here and we will certainly be back and asking for Arturo!

That was one of my favorite meals. I’ve had in a long time in Houston. In a sea of great restaurants, it’s hard to stand out. Star Rover did that by turning back the clock. From the big boy T-shirts on the servers to the simplification of the menu, they crushed it. Everything was perfect. From the decor, to the red and white check table, linens, and the music. It all set an amazing atmosphere. Prices were in line with everything else, but it wasn’t a barrage of options. Just good food and a casual environment. Layla was a fantastic server. Will be back often to make memories and relive them.
For the food: great twist on a shrimp cocktail, chopped steak was fantastic, and the sides were perfect.
