Great neighborhood Tex-Mex spot! La Mex in Garden Oaks hits all the classics just right. We did takeout and everything was fresh and flavorful—the beef fajitas were tender and sizzling-hot (even after the drive), queso was creamy and addictive with perfect chips, and the flour tortillas were soft and house-made tasting. Breakfast tacos are a steal (2 tacos + coffee for around $6—perfect post-gym fuel). Portions are generous, prices reasonable ($10-20 pp), and the staff is super nice and quick. The vibe looks fun and welcoming inside with that Stomping Grounds patio energy. Solid addition to the area—will be back for more fajitas or a margarita happy hour

Had an amazing experience at this restaurant the service is very prompt and Daniel took great care of us, absolutely one of the most popular and upcoming restaurants in the area. I would love to see more events in the patio area where I can tell that there is a lot of room for family and friends to get together and enjoy La Mex!

Employees were nice and helpful. Breakfast tacos are okay; they would be better if the flour tortillas weren't greasy, as others have mentioned. I also ordered eggs a la mexicana, but they weren't spicy at all. I had to keep adding hot sauce. The hibiscus tea has no flavor. The view is nice, though.

We were running late to pick up something for lunch, glad we were in the area and enjoyed La Mex so much.
The fajitas were so soft and tender. The pastor was so rich in flavor.
Can't wait to go back already for more and do a proper review trying a number of items.

We ordered La Mex to cater a birthday party. Management was quick to respond and so great to work with. They delivered the food and everyone raved about how good the tacos were. We loved the food and will definitely order again in the future

I love this restaurant, we had a networking event here and loved the small bites. We had street tacos, mini tostadas, and taquitos. I really liked the outdoor courtyard which is great for kids. Try this hidden gem you'll love it.

My mom and I stopped by La Mex in Oak Forest for a quick late lunch around 4:30 PM and had a great experience. We were able to enjoy their happy hour menu, which had everything we wanted to try anyway, so we ordered everything. All the food was pretty good, and my mom especially enjoyed it. Yoguef, was super sweet and the service was excellent.
We chose to sit on the patio, which was a perfect spot to watch the kids play in the courtyard while their parents relaxed nearby. The surrounding area has other venues, and after our meal, we enjoyed dessert at Fat Cat Creamery just across the way. There’s also a stage for live bands, which I imagine would be a great place to enjoy on the weekends. La Mex seems like a great place for families with kids. We’ll definitely be back!
