My daughter was trying to do something nice for me due to having a rare condition and only being able to eat 15 things (which includes herbs, spices!)- obviously this was going to be a challenge for any chef. But- we explained the situation and she knew before hand our needs and said she could definitely get the job done. My daughter only requested the recipes also-. Paid the same day, and a month later we received nothing. Always an excuse. She didn't even receive the full refund (we received $220.63 instead of us receiving the full $225). Wasted a full month on waiting on Chef LaBome, and still no recipes. It is unfortunate. We were hopeful since there are some good reviews here- but for us, our experience with this chef was beyond awful and not even 1 star worthy.

I struggled w/Chef LaBome. I put in a request for her to create 25 recipes first, she asked great questions and was quick to respond at first. Once I determined she could do the job, I paid her that same day but once I paid her, it was a struggle to even get her to respond to me. She was supposed to get the recipes completed at the end of the same week, but even now, a month later, I still haven't gotten anything from her. She mentioned it was taking longer than she thought it would, which I completely understood. She sent me that message at the end of the first week, but a shock to me was when I check in to see how the recipes were coming along on the 3rd of September and she only responded back to me on the 12th. She said she would send them before she left for an event on the 13th.Did she send them? No, she said she would send over a refund because she understood that this hasn't been a great first experience. I was fine not taking the refund as it had been only two weeks; I was only irritated that she wouldn't ever respond to my messages. But as the days went by, I wanted to accept the refund because she just wasn't providing the services she was supposed to. A full day after she said she would send the recipes, I messaged her, letting her know I hadn't ever gotten anything, just in case it was something wrong on my part. It took her 3 days to respond; she claimed that she sent them over and ask me to check. This was slightly suspicious to me but I check, I searched, I typed her email in to see if I had gotten anything, and Nothing. I told her I didn’t have an email from her and she said she would "Re-send them" I'm not convinced that she even sent them to be honest. Then she said she was busy catering and she would send them (wait-- hadnt she already sent them? Exactly!) and a refund over after, that was on the 15th. Next I heard from her was the 18th.she responded she understands I paid for a service and haven't gotten anything yet, and that her plane just landed and that I was her "top priority". I said it was no problem at all and I was excited to see her work. After another entire day, I expressed my concerns that I had paid for a scam. She told me she was working through a lot right now and that and she is not in the best place mentally. I told her I was sorry to hear that. All I asked was for her to keep me UPDATED. She responded the recipes would be completed on the 20th (again… didn’t she tell me she had already sent them??- she obviously lied and said that to buy time). It took two entire weeks for her to respond and she only responded after I left a review on Oct. 1st. By THAT evening! She called demanding that I had 5mins to remove it or she won't not send me the recipes- so I took it down immediately in hopes to receive the recipes I requested and needed 1 month ago. Well- 5, 10, 20, 45 minutes went buy and no refund or recipes- said venmo, paypal, zelle-- nothing was working. Eventually she got Venmo and sent a refund but we didnt get the full refund for some reason (220.63) and said that she didn’t have to give me any recipes anymore since she had refunded the money (but said she STILL would because that was the initial agreement and she wanted to honor that-- even though "now I don’t have to since I'm giving you your money back")- needless to say, she still hasn't emailed the recipes like she said she would still do- to be honest I wasn't expecting her to since she sent a refund of the money owed back to us.$220.63 instead of $ 225 is what we got. The whole experience was awful. Poor communication from her end, empty promises to buy herself time, and in the end just not a person of her word. I was seeking her services for medical reasons on top of that-- not even for the pleasure to have this done for me- but for a true need-- I ended with over a month of time wasted, no recipes, and not even a full refund. Chef Jasmine did everything possible for me when putting together a menu/quote for my wedding. She also organized and prepared the table setup and arrangements and did all of this for a very reasonable price point. I would recommend her for any of your party needs. She displays a very professional manner as well which is necessary for me.
