Lafayette Cajun Seafood Restaurant

It had been years since I had been in Lafayette. However I have been hearing good things about it lately. So, I decided to try it out today.
Sunday before the Church crowd. 🙏
I ordered a shrimp po boy and a bowl of shrimp gumbo to go.
The shrimp poor boy came with french fries, this was not mentioned on the menu. I would have prefer Hush Puppies. $2.00 extra. But that was not offered.
The guy taking my order was kind of like, nonchalant. Not sure if it was his personality or if he just give a care. Anyway, the shrimp in the po boy were not your normal round fried shrimp, these were long and thin.
And the Gumbo, well although it was to go, no plastic ware was given.
So, I have tasted it yet. It is not a thick gumbo, judgement is being held at this point with the Gumbo.

A hidden hole in the wall. Once you go, you'll keep going great. Owners, great food and surprisingly, great prices.Especially for lunch. Trust me on this one.You'll love this place.

First time visitor, will definitely return. I found this place to be clean, filled with wonderful employees and absolutely delicious food. I had one of the luncheon specials for around $10. Very affordable. They have a large menu with lots of lunch and daily specials. I live a good 40 to 45 minutes away, and found it to be worth the long drive. I think that we will become regulars.

I just tried this local restaurant that’s been here over twenty years. I had their Red Snapper Filet Novelle, an incredibly delicious sautéed filet of Red Snapper, topped with Shrimp, Red Bell Peppers, & Avocado, in a creamy white wine sauce — maybe the best I’ve EVER had, served over a rich bed of ‘dirty’ rice full of ground Cajun sausage and fresh chopped Cajun trinity. I gave the atmosphere 4stars because the food was SO far above the restaurants surroundings it was shocking.

The food is delicious and the prices are quite reasonable. If you love Cajun food- this is the place to go. Our go-to!

Smells awful!! Food ducks!! Way too overpriced!! Don’t eat there it’s OVERPRICED AND OVERRATED!! I spent close to 50$ my kids complained and wasted this mess!! Don’t be fooled ITS NASTY

Quality of food is not good at all. I had asked for an ice bucket and no one would bring it up to my room. Extremely poor service. Very disappointed. Water got turned off and no water at all for over an hour. Barker sink drain and no one would come out to fix it. Terrible service overall. Door didn’t close properly.

The food was excellent 👌 & the service was on point!! The prices are very reasonable also!! The only drawback was parking, they're next door to a laundry mat & shared parking but the lot is tiny!! We will for sure be back we just won't go during a rush hour

If you have any food restrictions don't try this place, they don't follow common sense instructions.
My waitress was friendly and a bit helpful.
I had the stuffed snapper.
I order what I read and thought that I'll receive. This dish stayed that it's served with a wine cherry sauce. I had no clue that it was creamy or would have dairy products.
After the food arrived I expressed that I thought by the cherry wine sauce would've been of cherry wine color not the way it was served creamy and it had milk. I expressed that I'm lactose intolerant to the waitress and Zi asked if the dish could be redone without the cream but to make sure that the fish would be prepared with condiments.
She brought back a totally bland (no taste) fish.
I ate it not to cause a scene since I was accompanied bc they've already made some changes. And I was so hungry.
It was so disgusting. They could have at least seasoned the fish with salt and pepper.
I will not recommend this place nor I'll ever come back.
