The Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit is the greatest thing I’ve ever put in my mouth next to my wife!

Walked in and the bartender greated us and said it was open seating. We sat down and waited 10 mins before leaving. No one ever came to the table. Saw two waitresses chatting in the corner but no one even looked up. Felt invisible and will not be returning.

I recently visited Leeland House for brunch. I will start off by saying the food was soooo good! We both had the Honey Chicken Biscuit. The chicken was nice and crispy on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. The spiced maple syrup on the biscuit was sweet and sticky. The biscuits reminded me of something my grandma would make. The potatoes that came with it were crispy and the perfect texture. We also had the hangover mimosa. Let me just say we felt good after drinking it. The perfect buzz. The service was quick and efficient. You place your order at the bar and they bring the order out to your table. They had plenty of seating, but most of it was outside (just FYI). I prefer to sit inside, but nothing was available. The vibe there was cool and casual. The music playlist was nice. The noise level was fine. It was busy, but I could definitely hear my boyfriend talking. I would definitely recommend and I'll be back!

The shrimp and grits are so delicious, the leek and Benedict w the egg is perfect and the açaí bowl is phenomenal. So healthy, gets very busy quickly at 9:30AM!! Very nice environment

I really enjoyed my brunch experience at Leeland House. I visited for the first time after Sunday service looking for a chill brunch vibe that didn’t have all the extra activity that comes with other Houston restaurants.

The Honey Butter Chicken biscuit was AMAZING!! The chicken was nicely fried on a homemade biscuit. I appreciated the fact that I could add bacon and they had a good mixed berry jam to balance out the savory with sweet. Of course I did the mimosa carafe and the choice of fruit juices (Mango) instead of only plain OJ was a bonus.

What I ended up appreciating the most was the service model. All orders - food and drinks, are placed and paid for at the bar upon ordering and you’re given a number to take to your table. There are multiple bartenders so you don’t have to worry about a long wait or having to go look for your server which was refreshing. Only reason I’m not giving it a 10 is because of the limited indoor seating and lack of free parking which is expected for this part of town. There are fans on the porch and in the patio area so it’s not unbearable during the meal. Overall 9/10!

Great location and front deck. I wish it did have waitstaff. The pictures we saw of the food looked great so that’s why we came, however it was very average and not very fresh. Very disappointing experience. Also did not like that 18% gratuity was automatically added when we placed the order.

I am not a fan and let's start with the gratuity they charge you PER ORDER. How cheap is it that you set 18% gratuity per order. This COVID Era foolishness where the service is minimal and they are getting mandatory tips needs to stop. Pay these people a living wage and stop taxing that on your customers. The food is good but it is not worth it.

The original plan was to have brunch at Chapman & Kirby, but due to the weekend crowd, I decided to explore nearby options. That’s when I discovered Leeland House—and I’m so glad I did. Just a five-minute walk from CK, it turned out to be a hidden gem. The service was excellent, the DJ set a great vibe, and the food arrived in under 20 minutes. The shrimp and grits? Absolutely chef’s kiss.

I didn't like the fact that nowhere on the menu does it say there is an automatic 19% gratuity charge on my bill. They only told me this when I was about to pay. Quite honestly, I like to tip based on the service I receive. No one came to wait on me. It's not my responsibility to pay an automatic gratuity when I don't receive wait service. The food also came out within minutes of ordering, which makes me feel like the food is just sitting around. I will not be returning. The atmosphere was lovely, but that's the only thing I liked.

It was the perfect morning for brunch with my sisters. We sat outdoors as the sun was hidden behind clouds and there was a sweet breeze blowing! The food was so tasty, as usual and the service was prompt!! We had the sweet potato hash, the honey chicken biscuit and breakfast platter.

You go to the bar and order yourself after looking at an online menu and they had an auto gratuity tip included in the price whenever we didn't receive service... since you walk up an order there's no point in tipping?
