My husband and I ate the smothered pork chops and fries fish at Luby's. Our server Irma was the sweetest and most thoughtful lady we have met at Luby's. I realized as I sat down with my friend fish that I had forgotten to get lemons and was telling my husband, Irma was placing salt and pepper and a sugar caddy down before we could ask her and she mentioned she would grab the lemons for me along with hot sauce just in case. She seemed to be 1 step ahead of what was needed. She wouldn't just ask but bring what she could just in case like paper napkins. It's been awhile since someone was thoughtful of their customers the way the servers at Luby's are. Even those in the food line were kind and patient with those who were undecided. We'll be back again just for the delicious meals and kindness shown to us.
I've lived close to the area for years and only about 3 months ago have I been ordering from this location for my Parent's. Every time I have ordered from here (to go), the service is excellent, fast and accurate! The food is always good and my Parents are tough customers, they've never complained once. I feel like the price is very fair for the portions and the food is always good. The staff is never rude, always going above and beyond. I highly recommend this location. We typically order the turkey and dressing and the fish. The portions are very generous and generous for the times we are living in which every place is skimping on portions due to rising costs. As Americans, we waste so much food, so I say for the ones complaining about portion size and just being greedy...you really don't need need any more than you have on your plate, just saying.

So stingy! I ordered turkey and dressing to go and didn’t even get a full scoop of the dressing. I was really disappointed that it was t enough to eat with my turkey so I decided to call and let them know. Their response was that the dressing is complimentary therefore, they don’t serve a full serving. I was like excuse me, the dish is called turkey and dressing for a reason- and there was no winning with this manager. I definitely will not be returning.

Luby’s is on its way back! I’ll be honest, for a while there you couldn’t have given me a meal from Luby’s, at least the one near my area. The last time I went (approximately April of 2024) I got a chicken pot pie. The crust was delicious. However, inside I found watery tasteless slightly thickened broth with exactly 3 pieces of carrot, 4 small cubes (1/3”) of potato and 2, yes two 1/2” cubes of chicken! I genuinely thought it was a joke! I took it back to the counter and showed them (I assumed they would want to know for quality control and all that) and was met with a very frustrated attitude. She did let me get something else instead. I assumed she was probably acting that way because there must have been other unhappy customers as well. My friend I was dining weren’t thrilled with their food but decided it was edible. Fast-forward to the weeks ago and yesterday! Full serving line, well-prepared and appetizing dishes. Generous portions! I had the trout almandine (my favorite thing from Luby’s)…delicious!! Keep it up, Luby’s!!
