Waitress was great at first but then everything took a long time. The last drink came with dinner while everyone else had them at apps. A kid came in screaming and even though the restaurant was rather empty, they put their table right next to ours. Food was delicious .

Easy hit if staying at JW. Super relaxed atmosphere, clean and great service. Food, not what you'd expect for price at all. End of day, thankful for ease of a meal in downtown Houston, next time might walk a block or two.

Brought a client over for dinner and it was fantastic. The Cochinita Pibil Pork Shank was absolutely excellent and the cocktails were very well made. Will absolutely return on my next trip to Houston.

We ate at this restaurant for both lunch and dinner. The food was very fresh and the servings were large and satisfying. Our server Tarsha was amazing. The service here from all of the staff was excellent.

All the food was great and server was very nice. It's a pretty busy setting so a little noisy but not too bad. Nice option for dinner if staying at the JW or have an event in that part of town.

I really enjoyed it. The waiter catered to our every need! My wife and i were very comfortable.,The Ambience was Nice and Staff was Awesome with Menu and drink knowledge,Worth Christmas Day Excellence.

I enjoyed Main Kitchen on Christmas Eve and elected to have their Christmas “Experience” which was a 3 course meal. All courses were excellent and each family member selected a different course. My personal favorite was the leek soup with crabmeat. I look forward to going back and enjoying the food of their daily menu.

I was looking for an upscale lunch spot in Downtown Houston and settled on ‘Main Kitchen’ for a test-run. With its location in a luxurious hotel, I anticipated a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, the reality fell short of the description; it felt more like canteen-level food and service. In all honesty, one could easily find similar fare in the nearby tunnels without paying a premium.

Breaking it down, the seating was problematic. The first table offered had an uncomfortable blast of AC from above, the next was swinging like a pendulum. Finally seated at the third table, ice water was served without asking, despite it being a cold rainy November day. The ice appeared melted. Opting for sparkling water, it turned out to be from a regular water dispenser, I can get the same water at the office. Offer me Ferrarelle or San Pellegrino, not the tap water.I was looking forward to have a glass of Telmont champagne listed on their November Wine Menu only to find it unavailable, and the staff seemed unfamiliar with it. Even Moet&Chandon wasn’t available. Settled for cava, which was a decent choice but certainly a downgrade from a champagne. As for the food, it raised many questions. The ‘exquisite dishes’ and ‘innovative and delicious menu’ promised on their website were nowhere to be found. The presentation and quality of the dishes felt basic and didn’t align with the fine dining experience I had anticipated.

For instance, the Crispy Brussels Sprouts were drowned in an excessive amount of Ponzu sauce, not exactly a healthy balance. TX Cut lacked the finesse one would expect—it resembled a canteen meal with a sloppy presentation and veered more towards Medium Well rather than the ordered Medium. At that point I was already so annoyed, agitated and hungry, so I had no desire to give any feedback anymore. The food was edible but far from remarkable. It wasn’t WOW. There’s ample room for improvement in both food quality and service. Our overall experience was disappointing.November 10th, 2023

Main Kitchen has come to be one of our "go to" places before theatre performances in Downtown Houston. The food and service are excellent and you can actually have a conversation with your tablemates!

Ordered the chicken pesto pasta salad for lunch. It was fantastic! The restaurant had such great decor, modern cook vibe. Loved it! The service was excellent! Will definitely be coming back and would recommend to anyone.

It’s a hotel restaurant accessible to outside customers. Nice chill vibes and the food is actually really good for a hotel restaurant and our server Heather was great. Will definitely be back.

Good brisket pizza, good apple salad, and good choriso dip. Prices are high and pissed me off that they provided pop refills and charged me 5 dollars a piece. 20 dollars for 4 diet pepsi's is a rippoff. I am used to free refills up north. My wife didn't ask for one but was given it and barely drank the 2nd. You should indicate or tell that. They had no menus but only qr codes.

From Nashville, TN to Houston, TX. I had originally chose the place because I saw online that they had cauliflower steak, however, they did not have it. I did find other vegan options and that did make me smile. I had the buffalo cauliflower and the curry soup. Both were very delicious. They serve Uncle Nearest 1856 and that definitely made me happy. Great service, good food, and nice ambiance. It is connected to the hotel, we stayed past closing and they just let us take our time and enjoy the night.
