Malu Bian Bian is a new hotpot place I went to shortly after it opened. The quality is pretty consistent and it’s kind of a buffet you can get as much meat as you want. The best thing though is that everything is on skewers so you can find your food pretty easily. The only complaint I have is that the cups and plates are tiny to reduce food waste, but you can overlook this by just eating whatever you have.

The food is fine for a buffet. But the servers there have an expectation of 15% tip. They will come to you and ask you why you tip them less than 15% and give you an obvious attitude change after you tip them less than 15%. I think they have a misunderstanding of the tip. Tip is always optional , 15% tip is not a rule anywhere in the U.S. Especially in a buffet restaurant. We brought the food to ourselves and cooked by ourselves , this makes your tips less than other restaurants unless you provide extra service which we didn’t receive.10% tip for a buffet meal is totally normal.
