I feel lucky to live so close to Mama's Kitchen, definitely a comfort food spot for me. I love the spicy chicken cube dish, and all the stir fry vegetable dishes. Food comes out super quick too! Large portions which is normal for Sichuan cuisine, so it's nice to dine with a large group. But I don't mind the leftovers either when it's just 2 or 3 of us. I've also had the boiled fish, cumin lamb, dan dan noodles - they were all very good. Need to try new items next time, but it's hard when I already have favorites If you like spicy food, definitely recommend. If spicy is not your thing, try their fried rice with shrimp. Another delicious dish!

I’m not giving them a 2 overall because the food is nasty. The food is actually great! They are receiving a 2 because they don’t allow substitutions of any kind. I have a shell allergy and asked if I could remove the shrimp from my order (shrimp cost more anyway) and replace it with chicken I was told no that I would have to pay $4.00 for the chicken. This is ridiculous!

Came here 2 yrs ago and today again. Perfect little place for a quick lunch! Food is great! Price is good! Me and my husband love it! Sorry forgot to take pictures before we ate, but the empty plates show how much we liked it!

My little brother took me here a while ago, and I completely forgot to review it. This is a great authentic Chinese restaurant, with nice decorations inside and super friendly staff. We ordered a variety of dishes including the spicy boiled fish, spicy chicken cubes, stir-fried pea shoots, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and a few others. They all tasted great and satisfied our hunger. Everything tasted authentic and perfectly spiced. Also, I absolutely love how they include shank in the Mr. and Mrs. Smith dish. I will have more to add when we return next time, but overall it was a great experience. My little brother returned the next day to indulge in the same dishes a 2nd time. He said this was one of his favorite Houston Chinese places to eat at.

We love this place! It's family owned and the prices are very fair with the food being very good portion sized! The indoor seating is ample, but not ideal for large parties. We had a party of 8 last time and there's no round tables like most bigger Chinese restaurants so with the food places linearly on the table, it's hard to get the food from one end when you're sitting on the opposite end. The staff isn't overly friendly but that's ok. I'm used to that at Asian establishments in Bellaire but it isn't the worst I've experienced. They have a 10% off for take out orders on Yelp but the last time I tried it, the staff never heard of it and wouldn't apply it even when I showed them the discount on the Yelp app.

excellent food! very nice staff. I would say the menu is more authentic Chinese than what I am used to and that was very refreshing! somewhat of a language barrier when requesting only white meat chicken in our order but nothing Google Translator couldn't fix. Highly recommend!

The food was good, although the spicy dishes didn't seem spicy at all. If I happen to be in the area again, I'd certainly would give the place another try but I don't see myself making a special trip to eat here.

I ate here on a work trip, while craving Sichuan food. The restaurant was almost closing for the night, so we called to make sure they would still be open when we arrived, then ordered over the phone, because the chef was about to finish. When we pulled up, to our surprise a table had been set with all the dishes and a big bowl of rice, and my colleague and I were brought to our table! I still think about how kind and generous this gesture was, months later. The dishes were reliable and tasty Sichuan standards, particularly the laziji/chicken with chilis. I grew up in China, and the food here hit the spot while passing through Houston. Thank you for the hospitality!

This restaurant is spotless and the staff are welcoming. The dishes are genuinely authentic, so it surprising that it's not more crowded. It's truly a hidden gem in the area, especially the noodles, exceptional!

Service is unwelcoming like they were not expecting company. Atmosphere is bleak like they are doing something illegal in the back. Only one good thing on the menu worth trying
