Everything we had was delicious! We had the oxtail croquettes, mangu, mofongo and the Dulce de leche dessert. The service and ambiance was great as well! My only complaint is only one bathroom stall in bathroom.
At Mamajuana in downtown Houston, the food's alright—nothing to rave about, but it'll do. The DJ brings the vibe, and they even busted out sparklers and danced for my birthday bash, which was a blast. The speak easy's a cool addition, but it's not the spot for deep chats ‘cause it gets pretty loud. People were more into chatting than dancing, but it was still a good time. If you're up for a lively night out, Mamajuana's got you covered!

Came with the girls and heard about this place from friends in NY, I didn’t love my empanadas and management and staff switched it out for another roll, the service was top notch great.Servers and bartenders on point.We also saw a bday celebration and it was so cute!The menu is on an iPad and loved how accessible that was!Great music, great ambience, fast service. 1000% come eat here!

On Sunday, I had the opportunity to visit Mamajuana Cafe Restaurante. My family and I felt very comfortable with the treatment received, the quality of the service and the exquisiteness of the food and its desserts not to mention, especially the dulce de leche between hot and cold was one of my favorites. In addition to the decoration, the atmosphere, the presentation of the food and that you don't have to worry about parking. We were welcomed by Mr. Erison Zorrilla, owner of the restaurant, and served by Freddy, the waiter, who I give a 10 for his excellent service. It felt super good to be Dominican and find a place like this in my area. I recommend it 100%. Visit it, it's worth it.

I usually don’t write review but I will sure do for this one. This place is incredibly beautiful in every way. Since the moment you enter. Theres great atmosphere, good music, very clean and elegant and most important this was the best Dominican food I’ve tried in all Houston.Our waitress was Freddy, he gave us an excellent service, was very attentive, and really nice. Every thing we tried was delicious, and don’t go without trying the dessert dulce de leche. I give this place 20/10, will definitely be going again.

This place serves the best Dominican food in all Houston area. The food looks exactly like it does on the menu. It’s amazing. The chef is extraordinary. The service is good. Beautiful place.
Food was excellent and our server Barren was a delight. He was very professional and made great recommendations. For the appetizer, we had Mamajuana Roll. Both my husband and I selected the Churrasco. The steak was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. It came with lentil soup or side salad. Can’t go wrong with either option. Both were fresh. We will happily be returning soon!For drinks we had the Mojitos. ?Highly recommend the mojitos and Churrasco plate. ?Easiest 10/10

Made brunch reservations to celebrate my birthday with my family that was visiting from out of town. This was our first time at this Mamajuanas location. I would like to include that we are originally from the northeast so we have been to all the Mamajuana restaurants in Jersey and New York. Because of this, we had a level of expectation. Upon arriving we were met by two individuals, a young lady and a man. The man immediately walked us to our table and shared that he would be our waiter. From the moment we were seated to the end of our dining, our waiter experience was not good! Our waiter seemed upset, unhappy and melancholy. My dad asked him if he was okay and my mom jokingly tried to address it as well but nothing changed. Thinking it was a language barrier I shared that we were Spanish speaking but that also had no impact on the way our waiter interacted with us. When he gave the menu, he just simply said "Do you want anything to drink?" No introduction, no small overview of the restaurant, no recommendations, nothing. It was clear that the waiter had zero training because he didn't follow the typical waiter/ress fanfare. Our waiter was so dry that I refused to even share that it was my birthday so he wouldn't sing to me with such negative energy. I do want to share that the restaurant itself was nice inside, we were able to see the speakeasy room which seemed like it would be a cool experience. The brunch food was good, to start we had the empanada trio and mixed skewers followed by the tres golpe, the steak and eggs and my kids had the red velvet waffle. Our only food complain is that a kids menu does not exist so we ordered the red velvet waffles without the chicken for our kids and were charged regular price for them. I really want to recommend this restaurant to others but based on our service experience I am having a hard time doing that. I hope to one day return but I really hope to have a different waiter.
