I have been going here off and on for about 10 years, I absolutely love it! The ox tails are my favorite, they are absolutely amazing. Finally got to take one of my grandbabies when he was about one, gave him and ox tail and we couldn't hardly get the bone back from him. I ate so much, he loved it. Take you family, we love this place!

The overall experience started off good. A good southern ambiance filled the place as you walk in. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes. It then became very obvious that we weren't welcome after a few people walked in and ordered food and got their food before us. Not a huge deal at first but it became apparent that it was racist after the 3rd person African American walked in and ordered food, paid and walked out before us. It took us 40 minutes to get our food, while waiting in no AC. Not only that, but the menu price for this was supposed to be 14.99. Please explain to me why I was charged 18.39. If this is some reparation payment, I will happily advise everyone I work with to never come to this establishment. If you include tip into this payment, take it out and earn your tip and I will still advice people to never come to this restaurant. You don't get money by giving people a racist and bad experience.

I just left Mama’s and the oxtails cabbage yams macroni and cheese collard greens bake chicken and don’t leave out the cornbread all good… Tried the delicious lemonade was the truth… Thank You Mama!!!🙏❤️

So disappointed!!!!! Used to absolutely love going here. It was a staple on our food runs to support them. But I literally just waited 20 minutes for them to even START making our food, which is cooked to order. For context, there was only one other customer.
And the attitude and dismissive my very gentle query was greeted with makes me not be a customer any longer.
Waiting almost 30 minutes for my food to even start to be prepared in any other place would not be tolerated. Truly sorry to have to give this one up.

The food was some of THE BEST soul food I’ve ever eaten! I had the oxtails with the rice, Mac and cheese with a side of cornbread. The food was so flavorful, the portion amount was generous and the price was very reasonable!!This food was so good I didn’t need to add any additional seasoning or sauce to it! Not only was the food good, the staff talked to us and had us laughing from the time we walked in the door until the time we walked out. Whenever I come back to Houston, I will definitely be stopping back in!

I order smothered pork chops and dressing. She was out of dressing and she she only had one smothered pork chop. She was trying to fry a pork chop while I was there and then try to smother it in the gravy right in front of me. I would have understood if she told me she did not have enough to complete the order. But instead she was misleading.
