DO NOT GO HERE. This place used to be good and the food quality is still good, but the service has gotten more and more slow every semester. I placed my order for just a chicken sandwich at 4:00pm and I didn’t receive it until 5:00PM!!! It’s was basically empty in there just me and 3 more people, so there was nothing that could’ve backed up my order. After staring at the counter for what it seemed to be an eternity, I came to the conclusion that the workers ARE lazy. They had 5 people working but only one person was cooking and she was pacing around the kitchen trying to waste time complaining. The other two ladies were cleaning the tables the whole time, and they cleaned my table 3 times so they were also just wasting time. Lastly the other two workers were on each cash register, one was just staring down and ordering chips and the other one on their phone the whole hour. I understand that they get paid minimum wage but it cannot be that hard to make 5 sandwiches. It’s just not worth wasting your time.

I waited over an hour for a sandwich at the UH McAlister’s with no warning at the register. When I asked about the delay, the cashier became defensive rather than apologetic or solution-oriented. Delays happen, but lack of communication and arguing with customers is unacceptable in a hospitality setting.

I visited the Sugar Land McAlister’s Deli a Thursday evening and was very disappointed with the service — and even more concerned about the lack of proper food-handling hygiene.

While waiting in line to order, I noticed an employee in the kitchen with her hair partially pulled back. She repeatedly used her gloved hand to push her hair out of her face, which was immediately concerning. Unfortunately, this same young woman later brought my food order to the table.

When I asked to speak with the manager, I was surprised to learn that she was the manager. I asked whether McAlister’s has a policy requiring employees to keep their hair tied back or covered when preparing food. She confirmed that there is such a policy but offered no explanation for not following it. When I asked why she wasn’t complying, she replied that she was “only making one order — yours.” She then smirked and walked away.

What happened next was even more unprofessional. She went to the restroom, took her hair completely down, and returned as if to prove that, as the manager, she could do whatever she wanted.

As a manager, she should lead by example. This young woman not only failed to do so, but her dismissive attitude toward customer concerns and basic hygiene standards was unacceptable.

I hope that area management, the district manager, or the franchise owner reviews this incident seriously. Customers deserve to feel confident that food is being prepared safely and by staff who care about professionalism and public health.

We went because of a special to discover they dont take promos. We ordered four items, got 5, and not a single one of our items was what we ordered. Staff does not care, it took 10 minutes to order food, and 15 to request and get refills. They had 6 people behind the counter and 3 customers, so it's not like they were busy. By far my worst McAllister experience yet. This store should be closed, or replaced with staff who care.

I reordered the same item that I had originally ordered back in the spring semester and it was good that time. I finally get a chance this month to go, I get there and it’s a line, but it was moving so I was chilling. I get to the register and tell the cashier my order and she’s asking questions that seem like she wasn’t understanding what exactly I was saying, and I realize that the exact same order was not the same that I was expecting( I was originally charged back in April about 22 dollars). I check the card machine and it’s damn near 32 dollars???? She turns around and when my receipt is done printing, I grab it to see what exactly I was charged: 1 club wrap, no tomatoes, add protein which was chicken that showed 4.75, spinach under another thing, I asked her, and then the second club wrap at 12.28, I’m confused bc they should be the same price right??? So I when I pick up my order, they looked good, normal, and when I asked the question about what the spinach charge was, I was good but still confused as to why it seemed so expensive. I start going home, search through my transactions on my card and find it, the 10 dollar increase!! So I get mad on my way home, but think nothing of it because because I’m going to eat them later (right now) with my sister. I finally open both of the boxes, AND BOTH WRAPS WERE MISSING MY CHICKEN ORDERED, ONLY ONE WRAP DIDNT HAVE TOMATOES, AND ONE OF THEM HAD AVOCADO. I know this was my fault for not double checking right there, but still. I was charged 10 extra dollars for less than I expected. Very disappointing, never coming here again!! AND IT WASNT EVEN THAT GOOD!!

My daughter was there on the first day of fall classes Monday, August 25th. She ordered a sandwich which she waited for over 30 minutes and the sandwich wasn’t ready. She had an appointment that she had to make on campus so she needed to leave and asked for a refund as the sandwich still wasn’t ready. No one there knew how to give her a refund and the rudely told her the only person who could would be back in half an hour. The staff clearly was not helpful nor were they moving fast enough to fill orders. Courtesy and work ethic are severely lacking at this location. Plenty of other options on campus so she won’t be coming back. Poor first impression.

Workers were lazy and rude. They keep the doors open till 6 due to policy but say they “won’t serve you after 5:00” even though it does not close till 6! The service is flip floppy like some days they are nice some they are rude asf. The food is very good though, sucks that the service does not match. Overall not worth the trips or the meal swipes.

DON’T GO HERE !!!! The service is terrible ! The cashier at the front always has a terrible attitude. When I asked her a question about he menus she caught an attitude. She told me there were out of water so I had to get a soda. She then told me I could not get a refill even tho with a meal exchange I was supposed to be getting a 16 oz water bottle she made me get a 12 oz soda. Only eat here if you want to get treated terribly by the cashier.

Just got food here this morning and I had to come back to leave a review. The food was good but the service was not something I would want to come back here for. Having worked at customer service for 7 years of my life, I know it can be sometimes frustrating for employees to deal with customers all day so even a neutral service interaction works for me. What I am saying is that I don’t hold high expectations for customer service. The lady who took my order at the counter seemed super annoyed when I was not able to understand or locate the “sides” menu option, and was unnecessarily rude when I asked what are the options and told me to look up there and find it. I think I would rather prefer using a self service kiosk if the human service can’t improve.

Would be a nice place to grab a quick bite if not for the very poor service. Decent prices for a decent meal, and the only complaint with the food itself is with the very watery mac and cheese. Servers are extremely rude and rush you even when the store is empty, and they yell at you to clean up when you are in the process of cleaning up after yourself. I’ve never had to rate a one for service, but these servers should not be allowed to interact with customers.

The location is ok, staff greet you but arent aware of what they do and dont have. The website shows the location to have certain items without specifying that this location has a reduced menu available. The two items I went there to pick up for a coworker and myself werent even on the available menu.

I ordered a peach lemonade, what I got was lemomade with syrup at the bottom unmixed. I asked for a fruit cup, no thats jot available. Instead of the Chipotle chicken spud I wanted, I ordered the spid max... and they still messed it up. The only toppings added to my spud are ham and bacon, nothing else. No green onion, black olives. 2 little paxks of butter and 1 thing of sour cream is all I got.

I purchased 2 drinks and my order was to go, I wasnt offered a drink carrying bag but had to ask as I was leaving.

1/10 location/service/food.
