I love this restaurant.....Our server Vincent and his team were awesome and the food was great!
The steaks are always the best. The cook takes their time but its well worth it.

Britnee the bartender was so sweet! She was nice and was personable. I enjoyed speaking to her. She made great drinks and checked on me and my date. I really enjoyed having her as a bartender.đ€

I stopped by J. Alexanderâs and tried the Brasserie Chicken along with their sweet tea. The chicken was perfectly cookedâjuicy and tenderâwith a rich, savory sauce that paired beautifully with the sides. The flavors felt balanced and comforting, like a refined take on a classic bistro dish. The sweet tea was just the right level of sweetness, refreshing without being syrupy. Service was attentive and warm, making the whole experience feel relaxed yet upscale. Definitely a spot Iâd return to for a reliably great meal.

We are regulars at the location in Fort Lauderdale. We always love the food and service. We have been to the uptown location many times. Service and food were always great but not this time. We sat ar the bar so we could watch the Asttos. We were pretty much ignored the entire 2 hours we were there. We had drinks. We had tortilla soup which was good. I had the fried chicken salad which looked like an appetizer. There was more croutons than chicken. The bartenders were more interested in the regulars than us. They never cleared our glasses, which accumulated To be about 5 and the empty bowl of ice cream! We topped 20% because my daughter is in the hospitality business bu I shouldnât have! I told the manager about our experience and all he said was âsorry to hear that!â I was in town for three more days and really wanted to spend my last night there but chose to eat at my hotel. Unfortunately I wonât go back to that location as long as that manager is still there! I have pictures of the mess in front of us but there isnât a place to post it here!!!
Itâs obvious that if you arenât a local or regular they will ignore you as they assume they will get better tips!! Very disappointing to say the least !

Food was not good. The chicken tastes like the rotisserie from any grocery store. No flavor or anything to the food. Would not recommend.

Seems like this place has really gone downhill. Tuna and crabcake were both barely edible.
We dined at Merus a year or so before J Alexander's came in to this location and had excellent experience. Exceptional meal, great, service, etc., all top notch and very expensive. Since we had a J Alexander's right by us for years before closing, and they were amazing, we thought we would try this new location. however, after reading the latest reviews, which I call up first, we are inclined to skip this restaurant completely. Will do Trulucks or Pappas instead. I want my $ 200.00++ going to a clean establishment, with kind and respectful wait staff and super delicious food.
Elitism and discrimination even though youâre a middle class restaurant at best? Iâve dined at restaurants like French Laundry and Masa and they treat everyone with respect. This is middle class fine dining and they act like theyâre superior.
Horrible service staff members yelling at customer. Hope the business model improve. I couldn't enjoy my meal embarrassing.
I found a maggot on my salad.
