If you don’t look like you have money the bartenders will ignore you. We stood in line and both bartenders didn’t acknowledge us, walked away to service other people. Can’t even say “we’ll be right with you” or ask “have you been helped?” I was excited to try their crawfish, oh well 🤷♀️

We came to Monkey's Tail for my birthday (12/4) during the holiday season with two of my friends. It was holiday themed at the time and the spot was beautifully decorated. The drinks were also 10/10 - absolutely amazing, we had gotten a few rounds of the egg nogs. At this particular time, I guess previous customers were taking the holiday themed glasses to our understanding. Because customers were stealing the glasses, I guess the bartenders were advised to ensure they had the glasses back before allowing customers to have their change or to cash their tabs out? Either way, the policy at the time was never an issue. It was the customer service following the policy and the individual in charge of carrying it out. Abby was terribly rude to me and my friends, we gave her $100 upfront for 3 drinks and 3 shots initially - only totaling up to about $75. My other two friends had finished their drinks, returned their glasses and I was taking my last few sips out of the cup at the bar, in front of Abby when she refused to give us back the change. After refusing, she proceeded to watch me like a hawk until I finished my drink then asked another coworker to cash us out so that she could continue to watch the cup even after it was empty and I had placed it in front of her. It was a very discriminatory experience to be obsessively monitored over a cup and it shifted the fun vibes for my birthday to a temporary yet negative feeling. I thought it was a bit much, but after reflecting on why me or none of my friends have returned to Monkey's Tail since, despite the cute ambiance - Abby would be why. I also watched her interactions with other male or white customers that night to see that her delivery was, in fact, much different and she wasn't snappy with them at all. We remained nice our entire experience with her and then recapped and discussed our experience amongst each other once we left. It would great if general customer service and protocol reminders could be discussed with team members like Abby and I don't know if Monkey's Tail has encountered any similar issues like this since my experience. But making your customers feel welcome should be a priority and I'm certain intention on that night weren't bad, but I just wanted to provide a helpful tip for future reference.

Mel is seriously the best! She makes the best drinks and can literally make anything you ask for — even if it’s not on the menu. Just tell her what you’re in the mood for and she’ll create something perfect every time.
She’s fast, friendly, and always keeps a great vibe going, no matter how busy it gets. You always feel taken care of when she’s behind the bar.
We don’t come here for the bar — we come for Mel. She’s amazing at what she does and truly one of a kind. Highly recommend!

Last night, security at the door decided to be very unprofessional and harass my group of friends on my birthday for the most benign things. Even had to tell the bartender about their behavior. Decided to immediately leave and go somewhere else to enjoy the rest of my night.

I enjoyed Monkeys Tail, myself and a few co workers met up on Tuesday after work. The atmosphere vibe is cool. Drinks awesome I had yhe cosmo and later on a rainbow shot and my impossible burger was juicy and tasty. My co workers enjoyed their drinks and burgers as well. The only reason I gave 4 starts is because we had the queso and chips, queso was amazing however the chips tasted stale. I would definitely be back!

Went to watch the Texans vs Steelers PLAYOFF game and they did not have the audio for the PLAYOFF GAME on in the patio?? like what???? I dont want to hear yall's lil songs while my team is playing i want to HEAR THE GAME. They need to be better prepared for Houston Sport Team Games and TURN THE GAME AUDIO ON FOR THE GAMES IN THE PATIO.
Such a great time at Noche Buena. Would love a few more food options thoughtl maybe the dogs and burgers to come with fries or chips or something like that. Mariachi and DJ on point
