This is the kind of place for authentic authentic Mexican food! The kind where the workers speak minimal english, but the service is good and the food is even better. We always have to stop here for every Houston visit! The plato Monterey is our favorite with their freshly handmade tortillas!
A big plus is the homemade flour tortillas. They are delicious. The breakfast plates are very good as well. The huevos rancheros are my favorite. My wife and I love coming here even more than many other well known chain restaurants in town. The chicken quesadillas with avocado are also very good. I haven't tried everything on the menu but I think you can't go wrong with anything. The last time I ate here the caldo de res was exceptionally good.
