Food was great!
Fountain drink machine has no ice in it. The soda comes out warm and seems flat.

Never have anything in stock...they just started offering smoothies and the smooth machine seems to never work. Over 50 plus menu items but only offer regular coffee

I live in Scotland but I try to visit Murphy’s Deli every time in in Houston. I love the chicken sun dried tomato panini, but I leave the sun dried tomato out. 😂 The staff are so friendly and the sandwiches are delicious!

Old enough to remember the TV show Cheers? If so, you will fully understand what it feels like to enter an establishment where "everybody knows your name." We see the same rotation of local professional here regularly. The employees and owner at this Murphy's Deli will quickly persuade you that you are the one customer they have been waiting for all week. Every item on the menu is fresh and readily customized and they never skimp. Murphy's is easily my favorite chain restaurant.

Walking around downtown Houston and found this place. We had the chicken dried tomatoes and was good. Juicy. Was one of the few things we liked from our visit to Houston. Downtown is full of homeless :-(

I went with the Muffaletta - Smoked Ham, Salami & Provolone Cheese with Homemade Olive Mix and Mayonnaise on Toasted New Orleans Muffaletta Bread. The Muffaletta olive mix spread had a very nice fresh garlic taste but the rest of it was lousy. Unfortunately at the end of the day there was a lot of bread and not a lot of meat which may have been fortunate since the low budget ham was so salty. Bottom line is that there was nothing Irish about their menu.

Provided twenty five lunch boxes for office meeting that were highly appreciated, well presented, ready on time and good quality.

I have eaten there several types and it really does get old very quick. There is simply not that much of a selection.

I went there twice last week! We were welcomed with warm smiles and speedy service. The new owners are so nice they gave my 5 year old a free chocolate chip cookie! Definitely putting the Durham location on the top of my list of places to go now. I also called last minute for an office delivery and had my food dropped off in less than 10 minutes!

I cannot imagine what the other reviewer disliked about this place. I have eaten here at least once a week for years. It's close to my office but not the closest. I drive a little further to eat here because the food is fresh and consistently good. The people who work here are hardworking, efficient and seem to like their jobs. (Unusual in the fast food industry.) It's a lunch spot that attracts a variety of customers and all are served with the same friendly service. The owner never fails to say thank you. It's a good sandwich at an excellent price. I see the same faces here all the time, so guess I'm not the only happy customer.

We own a house in the Heights and tend to frequent Murphy's Deli as a trade-off from the typical beat and path of subway, quiznos and BBQ. The location closest to us is 3017 N Durham Dr #100, 77018. It's never crowded on the weekend and I guess we now know why. REALLY BAD SERVICE!! Who would've thought ordering a combo and sprinkling lettuce, lathering mayo with a few shards of onion could be so difficult? This past Saturday, a lady who claimed to be the owner was in a really bad mood and surely was not used to sliding sandwiches down the rack (some teen' must've skipped his shift that day) and she decided to take it out on the customers. First, she was way too cool for school wearing sunglasses, an inappropriate uniform and parked her BMW in the handicap parking spot; we knew we we're in trouble walking in. We asked for two combo's and she told us, tomatoes are not included, then we asked for extra lettuce and she told us, tomatoes, lettuce and get this, salt and pepper are EXTRA. Want some sweet peppers? Nope! EXTRA! We told her, we come all the time and would not be back! She then, told us, "Oh well, sorry we can't make everyone happy!" Thinking we would take her mouth and her poorly made sandwiched, we told her, they were hers to eat. As we walked out, no sandwiches in tow, we saw her breaking them down and putting them back in the metal trays for the next customer. So I guess, not only do they napkins hostage, they hold lettuce, tomatoes and salt n' pepper too. Wont be going back there every again! Who knows, how many sandwiches we've eaten from there, from ingredients they put back in the tray from someone else.
