I always look forward to coming to Nickel City — and Avery is a huge reason why. From the moment you walk in, he makes you feel like a VIP. His energy is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly cool. He somehow manages to be attentive without hovering, personable without being overbearing, and genuinely invested in making sure you’re having a great time.

Stumbled in here as a recommendation for a friend and holy MOLY. You'll have the worst heartburn but indulge yourself in 6 scorpion wings + an Irish coffee to wash it down.
(don't do that actually scorpion hurts but like in a really really enjoyable way.)
Food? phenomenal. Drinks? fabulous. This place has it all.

I’m typically only there before 6pm and the food/drinks are always great. If Avery is working behind the bar, then you’re in luck. He’s a great bartender and great to just shoot the shit with. Shoutout to Roy and Qua in the kitchen, they whip up the best wings, sauces, and hash browns in the city of Houston.
