Spectacular dinner, no complaints! The food reminded me of Midnight Diner on Netflix -- and that's a huge compliment. Loved the food, service, and ambiance.

It's a cozy restaurant with options to dine in or outdoors (if you don't like the street view and mosquitos avoid patio, that's way one star down). Not much parking space. The staff is nice and welcoming. It's a great place for a decent price sushi with a variety of other options of Japanese cuisine, good for a brunch or a dinner. Overall food is great, worth the try! Also, don't miss the mango ice cream!

So - we are in Houston for one night and come here. We have eaten here dozens of times, and in the past it was great. So we arrive and an hour and 20 minutes later - no sushi. The place is not busy nor full. We will not come back. I don't know what they do - but the pace is unacceptable. One sashimi delis delivered, nothing for the other person. So disappointing.

Excellent food. It was my first time, I ordered chiken teriyaki bento and it was divine. I loved the atmosphere, the very attentive service and the super nice staff. If you want to have a pleasant time this is the right place.

More than three times closed without notice. Food was okay but I won’t never be there again.

I Walked in and wasn't greeted. I had to ask to be seated. He then proceeded to sit us at the sushi bar where there were stacks of styrofoam plates. We asked to move and were totally ignored. The server was super pushy and rushed us to order. We ordered red snapper, green tea, and a water. About 5 minutes later we ordered our main course. We waited at least 30 minutes before the gentlemen at the bar asked what we ordered. Our waiter didn't ask once did we need anything nor made any effort to even ask about the status of our order. To our surprise we found out he hadn't even put the order in. I am beyond livid and would have preferred to pay for what I had already received. The waiter still failed to apologize about any of it. First impression will always be lasting impression. I'll never be back.

This is a Japanese restaurant that I really recommend.I daresay the best in HoustonI think it's a Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere feels like going to a Japanese restaurant in Okinawa.Needless to say, the taste is also very delicious.(Especially the sushi and ramen are so delicious!!)I think I'll definitely stop by here every time I go to the museum area.

Nippon is the best Japanese restaurant in the USA. The authentic food tastes perfectly like it did in Japan. The sushi is amazing and great. The Katsudon is incredible! I also usually get the Tonkatsu Dinner which is filling and delicious. This is the only Japanese restaurant that added TekuMaki which is Tuna with cucumber rolls. I searched everywhere for this. We eat here at least weekly and I was shocked to find that I didn’t post it yet. The Yakitori is deliscious. The Chicken Karaagi is great Fried Chicken. Pictures to follow. Katsudon is the best. I spent 19 years stationed in Japan. This food is off the Charts! We have been coming here for almost two years so far.Vegetarian options: There is plenty on the menus for vegetarian eaters. All is delicious.Parking: The parking is a bit tight. But if full just come back about thirty minutes later. A spot will open up.Kid-friendliness: You can get sushi without wasabi for kids. They have a kids menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchairs can fit in here well.

Recommended dishes: Katsu Don, Gyoza, Miso Soup, Yakisoba, Tuna, Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box, California Roll

Small portions and overpriced. Rice was not good at all. Was expecting top quality food as it is Japanese owned but was letdown.

Good food quality with affordable price. I love the bento box. The salmon was grilled to the right degree and the rice tasted so mochimochi(chewy). I especially like the fact that they serve Japanese wafu salad before the bento! Beautiful, balanced meal in the right order. My tummy thanked me for choosing this place! Many Japanese restaurants in Houston are actually not owned by Japanese. nippon I believe is one of the few restaurants that run by Japanese.

Might be my new favorite place for sushi in Houston. All the dishes came out with incredible flavors and great textures. Even the miso soup was nice. They offer a nice variety of sushi and other Japanese dishes. The pricing seemed in line or even a little cheaper than other sushi places in the city of the same quality.
