They only have one vegetarian roll on the menu, but you can ask the chef for another roll and they’ll make it on the spot for you! It was so delicious, and the vibes are really nice especially more so as you step into the hidden bar where you’ll see why they calm it Norigami if you look up.

Went for the first time, the restaurant was not very big just the bar seats around the sushi bar.We have ordered several dish and some Handrolls. Handrolls were decent with some interesting toppings, crudos are very average, uni toast was not very good because the toast was soggy not crunchy/crispy. The lease favorite one is A5 Wagyu tartar, it's just so oily and couldn't enjoy the Japanese A5 beef flavor which I know how it should tastes.Service is very casual and not very attentive, looks like they don't care much.Overall nothing wow, might not go back.

I finally was able to attend one of their pop ups and I have to say that I was very impressed. I loved their service and the restaurant’s atmosphere. Their sushi was very delicious and fresh, and the Wagyu was cooked to perfection.

Overall had a great experience! We started at the hidden bar which was pretty neat. The drinks were great! My friend had an off menu drink that was pretty tasty. After the remainder of the part arrived we went back to the main dining area. It is bar sitting style with the items being prepared in the middle. I like the idea but if your party is larger than 2 it makes it a little harder to talk. The server walked around the parameter and sometimes it would take a bit for him to return back to us. I would have preferred to order from someone in the middle. They also started making everything when he put in the order instead of plating appropriately. Our crudo was coming out at the same time as our hand rolls and we all know those are time sensitive. It would have been nice to have more time to reflect on each item versus rushing through. The items we ordered were delicious. It's a more of a taco style vs standard hand roll. Prices are slightly more that comparable but appropriately so as it seems to be more generous with the fish or equivalent so that justified the cost. Everything we ordered was worth trying again.Make reservations as there isn't a ton of seating. I believe you can walk in and go to the bar which had some bites. Parking was good on a Sunday night. Don't miss the bathroom! Overall worth checking out. Will be back!

First time here and wasn't a bad experience at all. The handrolls were alright. My favorite was the Foie Gras and the Uni toast was actually interesting. My favorite part was going to the Hidden bar next door AND the RESTROOMS were cool af. They had a bidet (I didn't use it) but was playing with all the buttons lol. Overall, the hand rolls were good, but the drinks were better.

Experienced the hand roll concept first in NYC some time ago and LOVED it. So when this place showed up in H town, I had to go check it out. It did not disappoint. In fact, it ran neck to neck with the NYC taste. I started with a foursome order (4 rolls) and ended up adding one more at the end. The nori is perfect - crisp and not too chewy, not too salty, not too thick. The rice layer was different than sushi rice, couldn’t figure out exactly what kind it was but it was good and balanced the fish nicely. The fish was top notch- fresh, sized right, at the right temperature, and not so loaded with aioli or mayo that you couldn’t taste it. The dressings were fresh and delicious, not overpowering. The topping- avacado, etc were not out of place on the roll. The chefs engaged in polite and cheery conversation, and when a roll was brought to your plate, they took the time to explain what it was and how it was made. The ambiance is minimalist and modern. Its a personal taste thing, but the gray walls and pulled blinds did not do it for me. The lighting is ok, I guess. If I were to suggest to the proprietors, bring in some warm woods and warm spot lighting. Gray walls and flat white light didn’t work, I thought.Overall, an amazing experience, a wonderful find in Houston. A place I suspect I will be looking for N excuse to go out to often. Kudos, Norigami!

Started off by walking into the hidden bar where Hao?made me a perfect refreshing Gin yuzu Thai chili cocktail off the menu. It was delicious. We then made our way back to the main dining for our dinner. Nice intimate space. Our server was nice and offered goood recs. Was apologetic anytime there was a delay with service. We got the hamachi crudo and steak and eggs to share. And I went with the norigasm set. A little organizing on the timing of coursing would have been nice since the handroll's can't really sit around. Two of us got our first rolls of the set before the shareables made it out- or at the same time as I should say. The steak and eggs was rich and creamy, and actually quite reminiscent of a cheeseburger. Hamachi crudo was solid, we used the leftover truffle sauce for dipping others in! Ha (also a great suggestion from our server!)All the handrolls were filled with good bite sized fresh fish. My favourite was the chopped scallop. Plenty of parking in the strip lot. Don't know that I'll be running back, but it was good to try.

SO GOOD! I've been to plenty of handroll bars, and Norigami is definitely up there in terms of top favorites in Houston. For appetizer, we were recommend the Hamachi Crudo from three of the servers, and it was delicious, but my personal favorite had to be the Hokkaido Scallop. If you're trying to choose between the 3Some and 4Some, I would go with 4Some because the Blue Crab hand roll was awesome. Or get both! Spicy Salmon was our personal favorite out of the hand rolls we tried. Not to mention, there's a really cute speakeasy inside the space. Service was great. Our total for two people came out to be $120 including tip. So much to rave about the place.

I originally heard about Norigami from a Chef at Sushi by Hidden who mentioned it's run by the same chef as Hidden and he recommended checking it out. Finally got the chance the other night and it was an experience, to say the least. When we arrived, despite it being a busy Friday evening we did not have any issues finding parking near the front door. We did not have a reservation and seating wasn't available when we arrived. This worked out though because we opted to put our names on the waitlist and grab a drink at the hidden bar, which ended up being way nicer and a better experience than if we were to be seated immediately. The hidden bar had a very nice, dark, upscale feel. Although it was busy and the bar was a little smaller in size we still got a spot at the bar and ordered two glasses of Hibiki on the rocks. The noise level at the bar was perfect and still allowed for conversation. We drank and talked and before we knew it we were getting a text that our seats were ready. When we got to our seats we went a little crazy with the menu...as you can see from the pictures alone. I really wanted to see what this place was made of so we ordered a wide variety of menu items to get a good feel of this place. What ensued was one of the best meals of my entire life. Every bite that came out was seemingly better than the last and each was packed with flavor to an utterly preposterous degree. I won't go into detail on each item but my standout favorites of the night were the Steak and Eggs, Uni Toast, Spicy Scallop, and Otoro. The food was great, but the service here was equally amazing. The hostess was very kind when she told us there were no seats and she was the one that suggested checking out the bar while we waited. The waiter was very attentive and made sure we got everything we ordered to our liking, made some perfect menu suggestions throughout the meal, and made sure our water glasses never got past half empty. The chefs were also a big part of this experience as they made sure the menu items came out at the perfect time and they even handled a few order customization requests with ease.As you can tell from this review, I cannot say enough good things about Norigami. If you're looking for an unforgettable date night or just a special treat for yourself, this place is an absolute must-try.
