Greeted as soon as we walked in and went over the menu with us. Food came out hot and quick. Was so nice to find this gem. The red beans and rice, the Mac and cheese, the catfish were all executed with great detail and skill. Will be back.

I rarely feel compelled to write a review this harsh, but my experience with this meal was nothing short of appalling! The food was downright inedible!!
I'm almost certain the sausage used was spoiled as it had an off putting odor and taste that made it clear it should have been in the trash instead of my dish. To top it off, they simply placed four sad, lonely slices of sausage on top of a cup filled with chicken, rice, okra, and an underwhelming amount of broth.
The red beans? Overcooked to the point of being mushy and tasteless, with absolutely no seasoning to bring any depth or flavor. The yams were even worse—I've had better from a can. Bland doesn't even begin to cover it! They had no sweetness, no richness, nothing at all to make them even remotely enjoyable... Then there was the catfish. For reasons I still can't comprehend, it was oddly tough, with a strange film coating it that made it feel like it had been sitting around far too long.
In the end, I couldn't bring myself to eat any of it. The entire dish ended up in the dumpster, where it belonged. Frankly, this place should be shut down. No one should be subjected to food this bad!

There is no way I would ever patronize this establishment. The lady taking our order was rude and unwelcoming. Nothing was welcoming about the atmosphere. The food was subpar- won’t be returning.
Food quality exceeded expectations! Customer service falls short. Staff lacked enthusiasm; owner seemed somewhat abrasive. Yet, supporting local entrepreneurs counts, so I disregarded service flaws. Cashier was average. Customer service excellence matters for business success. Ambiance shone! Food delighted! Owner and staff should hone interpersonal skills. Owner's demeanor remained neutral.

This food is delicious, I can't stress that enough. I had the Catfish Atchafalaya and my wife had the smothered pork chop and they were both outstanding. I can also wholeheartedly endorse the cobbler and the banana pudding too, those were delicious.
