Sept 2025.
I asked if they had a wait time, and they said they had an open spot available for one. It was at 830pm mind you. When I got there, they no longer had it available, or at least that's what the host said, and then the host said they were no longer taking spots so I was out of luck at 830pm(they close at 10pm). Then immediately following this another pair of people walked in, and they took their names. I've been coming to Oishii since 2007, and when a restaurant rejects you like this, all I can think is to pretty much no longer visit. I guess if you go by yourself you're not welcome. I won't be returning, so that's how you lose a customer of 18 years.

Very good food and service. Lunch bento box with salmon for $12.95, and you can then add a California roll for $2.00. That’s a very good deal. Happy hour menu seems great too.

Great price mid sushi with wack rice. My wife would probably give this place 8 stars.

My wife and I frequented Oishii over the past 7-8 years and it’s gone downhill. There was a time when we went here and loved the prices and quality. Won’t ever come back here anymore. The service is lackluster. But the most concerning thing is the lack of seriousness in food handling practices and quality control. I saw waiters spraying chemicals and cleaning and then handling food wothout washing their hands. The sushi chefs leave the fridges open instead of closed between preparations. I’m not entirely sure how they have not been downgraded by the food inspector as it’s dirty everywhere as well. After eating the food anyways to give them the benefit of the doubt I had some of the worst stomach pain I’ve ever experienced in my life. If you’re in a budget and want to get good variety but low quality this may be the place for you! Watch out for cross contamination and quality control.

We tried the Kano Salad, Spicy Salmon, and the Vegetable Tempura (especially the zucchini). everything was absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The staff here are so nice, respectful, and always smiling, which makes the experience even better.

This sushi place is hands down one of my absolute favorites! They have the best sushi at the best prices, and every time I come in, I’m treated like family. The staff here are so warm and welcoming that it honestly feels like home.

Finally !! A GREAT SUSHI SPOT IN HOUSTON.
I've tried about three Japanese sushi restaurants around Houston. All of them bombed 💣. The worst being Kokoro downtown. (Pure garbage)
I was about to give up the search but being the sushi enthusiast that I am, tried again. They say the third time is the charm. Nope... this time it was the fourth time. And I was truly charmed. First test: I walked in sat at the bar and asked for plum wine. They had it! passed.
Then I ordered the happy hour specials and WOW. I was pleasantly surprised. They even had the college football game on. So I got to watch the game and eat sushi 🍣 Win win !
This will be my official goto spot in Houston. Great vibes, great food, great drinks !!!!

Fantastic spot, best sushi in Houston in my opinion. They are always so busy that they dont take reservations. Best to go with a small group, no more than 4 people.
