Let me first say, this was my first time at this establishment. So, i was excited to try this place out. When I walked in I was treated as if I wasn’t there. I had to get the waitress’ attention more than once. When she did come to speak with me, she was very “short” with me when I asked questions about the menu. However, I noticed she took her time to nicely host the other patrons who were not of color. All I’m going to say is beware. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to review the food because I chose to take my money elsewhere due to lackluster service.

Sushi is good and the service is amazing. They put a 4 piece “on the house” special with our to-go order ant no extra cost and it was delicious. Great sushi place.

I don't think I've ever posted for a restaurant before but felt compelled to do so for Osaka. We've been going to Osaka on a weekly basis for the last several years. They always do a great job. The sushi is excellent - they have what I think is the highest quality salmon in the city (and I've tried nearly every other sushi spot in H-town). Our regular server, Bao, is the nicest person ever. She welcomes us every week and remembers our family, our eating preferences and always has a smile on her face. We need more of these amazing little neighborhood gems in the Bellaire/WestU area and should patronize the ones that consistently do a good job. They've recent started an all-day happy hour menu to offer lower prices without affecting quality. I highly encourage anyone who likes great sushi and wants to support smaller businesses to dine here. Also, I saw some of the other reviews (which weren't as sterling) and while I can't speak to the experiences of others - I find some of them incredibly hard to believe. I've been to this restaurant over a hundred times (just had them cater a party - they did an amazing job) and never seen any of the negative things that others have claimed). Trust someone who goes all the time and give it a try. You'll be happy you did!

Giving 2 stars for the kind service and because we got a free dish on the house. But overall, low quality sushi charging the same price as much better quality places. Rolls also all fell apart. Will not be returning and do not recommend

This place is an underrated sushi restaurant-one of the most chill, calm, and relaxing dinners I’ve ever had. Sushi is priced as expected ($10-$20 per roll) and the menu is extensive as it includes stir fry, don, soups, and more. Our rolls were filling and delicious! We would get the shaggy dog roll and negi ribeye roll again! Our waitress surprised us with a free tempura appetizer as well as their complimentary and yummy house made ice cream. We are definitely coming back to try out more rolls on their menu!

We have been eating at this place regularly since 2006 until 2017. We moved to the suburbs, but Osaka is still our Go To sushi place, when we are around the area. We never had a bad meal here... Until today! What happened to the food quality? The "on the house" sushi was hot (temperature). We ordered our normal Osaka Roll, Ocean Roll, shrimp tempura, and Baked Mussels. As soon as the first dish (shrimp tempura) came out, I noticed immediately the batter looked different. The sushi was falling apart and soaked in a very sweet eel sauce. , The baked mussels used to have the tobiko, but now it was replaced with so much onions. The batter in the shrimp tempura used to be so good and fluffy. Now it is very stiff...It looks like they had a new chef...The quality of the food is not the same...Y'all lost us on shrimp tempura...

This place is terrible. The sushi rolls were awful and would fall apart immediately. One roll had fried oyster but the oyster was so hard it was like eating dried paper. It was disgusting. And the prices are outrageous for what you get. I will never go back there or recommend to

This place is absolutely terrible. The rolls were falling apart and almost inedible. The cucumber was so bitter. The rice wasn't even cooked right. And the prices are so high. 14 bucks for a basic California roll?? Do yourself a favor and stay away.

First time here. Ordered a roll and tempura appetizer. They threw in Edemame. Food was ready, delicious and perfectly prepared. Will be going back soon.
