Meat was tough and not enjoyable on bahn mi. Bread was stale. Fried rolls had hardly any insides and the outside wrapper was so hard to bite into it felt like you would crack a tooth. Most likely old and reheated. Might try again during the day time?

I’m sad to say this, but this was probably the worst banh mi I’ve had. The bread was soft yet tough
go figure. It was fighting me as I ate it! The meat is good but there was little to no butter/pate which was disappointing when considering the cost. Also, I asked for my jalapeño on the side and they gave me a sliver of one—honestly, it was quite funny đŸ€Ł

My girlfriend and I stopped by while we were in Houston, and she ordered a “Biggie” for me. It was absolutely delicious, especially with the hoisin sauce and sriracha. We were both very full by the end of our sandwiches, and the lady working up front was super friendly. I can’t wait to visit this place again!

Rice University location review:

I used to really enjoy coming here. The prices are affordable, and the food can be pretty tasty. I appreciate the tofu options. However, the inconsistency in quality has become too frustrating to overlook. On a good day, the bĂĄnh mĂŹ is a solid 4/5, but on a bad day, it barely reaches a 1/5. On any given day, the tofu can be chewy, dry, and tough, and often the sandwich is cold with dry, hard bread. Sometimes, they forget to put the jalapeno on; other days, they will put the tough inner part of the jalapeno with 100 seeds into the sandwich, rendering it almost inedible. It also looks nothing like the advertised photos, which feels misleading.

Rice Dining should hold its vendors to a higher standard, and Oui Bahn Mi needs to focus on the quality of food they serve to the Rice community. A $5 sandwich is great, but not when the quality is a gamble. Unfortunately, I can no longer count on this place for lunch.

I would not recommend this place. you order using a kiosk inside. there were no menus to look at on the wall or printed out if you were waiting to use the kiosk.
the food wasn’t that good. the best part of the banh mi was the bread. the pork was too sweet and overly sauced. there was barely any pate or mayo. cilantro seemed thin too. the spring rolls were loosely wrapped and 90% lettuce.
one of the water cups had a crack in it, which leaked all over our table. we threw that cup away
it wasn’t busy inside and I can see why
if I ever have a banh mi craving again, I’m willing to drive further for one

Parking: there’s free parking but like with anything in this area, it’s hard to find an open spot. nonno’s next door is popular

3.5 stars. It is a good spot. However the banh mi is just okay. Sesame balls were not the best.

Overall good, pho was good. But other foods are just ok.

Waited 20 minutes in drive thru line to get sandwich. I'm running late so I go inside, see one employee slowly making sandwiches and another calmly sipping coffee. Neither one so much as looks at me, or asks if I need help. I had to leave without getting my sandwich.

This place might be good, but it's probably best not to come here unless you have 45+ minutes to spare.

My order was incorrect. Uber support sent in the pictures and received a message stating that they are unable to assist In the matter and to do a Google review. My order was missing state which is a primary reason I order from this location. If you’re not going to stand by their food and Do what’s right and make refund were necessary then I do not suggest anyone orders from this place.

Absolutely disgusting lol how do you mess up pho this badly? Put the soup in the quart container and blanch the noodles, and try to leave out the long black hair which I had to pull out of my throat.

Banh mi special wasn’t very good. The bread isn’t toasted and the meat is dry. They skimp on the patĂȘ and they didn’t add any mayo on the 4 sandwiches that I ordered.
Vietnamese iced coffee is good.
The cashier was very nice and the service was fast.

Disgusting it has been going downhill. I used to love this place but the last two times I have gone were horrible. I ordered a bahn mi it was super moist it fell apart and I had to dispose of it! My spring rolls had maybe 5 noodles and all lettuce and they were falling apart I definitely don’t recommended this place anymore!!

If the owner can read this please fix whoever has been prepping your bahn mis & summer rolls. I used to love your place but lately the way you’re making your food has gone downhill. The bahn mis have been horrible lately & the summer rolls used to be a great size now they’re as small as the imperial rolls. The first time I thought maybe they were training someone but I’ve had them a couple of times now & the quality of the food is bad compared to before.
