⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5 stars) Panera Bread Nearly Put Me in the Grave – I’ll Never Eat There Again
I never thought a place like Panera Bread—known for its “clean” food and fresh ingredients—would become the reason I ended up in the hospital. But that’s exactly what happened, and I feel like people need to know just how bad it was.
I was in town on a business trip and stopped at this location on Tuesday for a quick lunch. I ordered the Mediterranean sandwich—something I’ve had before with no issue. But shortly after eating it, my body completely shut down. My stomach started cramping, I couldn’t keep anything down, and I got violently sick.
The problem was, I still had to make the long drive back to Dallas. That drive was insane. I was dizzy, nauseous, and fighting to stay focused behind the wheel. I nearly crashed more than once. I wouldn’t wish that drive on anyone. By the grace of God, I made it home and went straight to the hospital.
Once there, the doctors confirmed it was food poisoning. I was dehydrated, in extreme pain, and had to be given morphine just to get any relief. I spent hours lying in a hospital bed hooked up to IV fluids, trying to recover from what I thought would be a simple lunch.
This wasn’t a minor stomach ache—this was a medical emergency caused by something Panera served. The experience was traumatic, and it completely shattered my trust in this brand.
I will never eat at Panera again. If you value your health, I suggest you think twice before doing so either. No one should go through what I went through over a what was my favorite sandwich.

I definitely recommend their Mediterranean Chicken Greens with Grains and their Chipotle Chicken Sandwich accompanied by the Hibiscus tea refresher.

First, they don’t have handheld menus…just smallish print up on the wall…and kind of an attitude about it.
Second, they didn’t give my wife a fork - no big deal - but when she went to go ask for one the guy argued about it, saying he had given her one (he had given her 2 knives but no fork). We just spent $40 on two damn salads, I can promise you that we’re not running some kind of scam to hoard plastic forks.

I came in within an hour of closing to get coffee. Asked if there was any decaf. Not within an hour of closing. Coffee was luke warm and the closers were talking and carrying on. I had to ask for half and half (poured in my cup from a gallon jug.) after I accidentally pour unmarked skim, I think. No stirrers, had to search for sugar. No tops. Lady told me “you can grab one from over there…”
I understand people want to go home, and t this isn’t my normal stop, but really?
It's one of my favorite places. It is always an amazing atmosphere with great music to brighten the Feng Shui.
