If you have a criminal record don't eat here.. I have a college degree and ten years waiting experience. I was hired by pappas, and then when they got my background check they denied me. We have to support our own. Don't eat where you can't work

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Pappadeaux. While eating, I literally pulled a long string of hair out of my mouth. The waiter immediately asked, “Was that in your food?” and I told him yes. What made the situation worse was the manager’s response — or lack of one. She came over with no apology, no concern, no emotion, and no acknowledgment of how unacceptable this was.

They comp’d my cup of gumbo and took half off my meal, which is fine, but a discount doesn’t replace genuine customer care. A simple apology and some empathy would’ve gone a long way. Unfortunately, the way this was handled made the entire experience even more disappointing.

I came to Pappadeaux near NRG yesterday and my experience was better than it has been in a while. The service used to be too-notch and the last few (5-8) times I’ve been, there’s been a noticeable shift for the worst.

Alex was a great bartender and made sure I got what I needed. However, I left my card at the bar and when I called to ask if it was there, the young lady at the takeout area answered my call and put me on hold to “ask a manager. I waited on the line about 5 minutes or so, and she then picked up and said “Hello”. I responded saying “Yes”, thinking she’d let me know whether my card was there, instead I got silence. So I asked if she could hear me and she just said “Yes”. I went in to remind her that I’d been on hold.
She sounded as though she’d forgotten and said “Oh yeah, let me ask a manager”—again.

I waited an entire 15 minutes and finally just drove to the location, parked and went inside to the take-out stand. She looked up and said “Are you here for pick-up?” I said “I’m still on hold with you about my card.”

I never got an apology or so much as a proper greeting. She just pulled someone who was taking curb-side pickup orders in and said “She’s here for her card.” The young woman doing curbside just looked at me and went back outside to finish a transaction. The original young lady then asked her again to see if my card was there. She asked me for my ID to confirm and went to a manager. He promptly brought my card to me.

The manager was quick but professional and the only person who even so much as smiled or presented a pleasant demeanor. The original young lady g lady I spoke with gave me the worst customer service I’ve had anywhere in a long while.

This location used to be stellar. The waiters and bartenders were on it! They knew their stuff and they were precise and had great customer service. The hostesses and takeout folks were on point too. Within the last year, I’ve had more disappointments from the hostesses and now takeout area than ever. It’s sad.

I ordered off the lunch menu, blacked catfish and red beans and rice. And I asked if I could sub the rice for broccoli. The server only brought the fish and broccoli, no beans, and i was charged full price. At least she got everyone else's order correct.

I’ve never been to this restaurant before. A friend recommended and it did not disappoint. Great fried shrimp, butterflied and lightly breaded to a crispy outer surface!
Bread to die for, and a baked potato as big as a small child!
