I Enjoy this family’s involvement and care they give to service, quality, and friendship for so many customers. And that St Thomas HS is always in their hearts for so many of us and for so many years. I’m From ‘65.
italian food at this spot - super tasty. the staff was very welcoming and sociable. the bill was good for what you get. like a restaurant in washington i liked.
A preferred spot for tasty Italian food. Arrived at seven, it wasn't crowded. The service was friendly and observant. It has a cool interior.
The food, excellent, the service friendly but slow.
The food was disgusting and the waiter was on point for everybody, but us. In between the appetizer and main course we waited about 40 minutes. he didn't check on us. we got my meal comped and still spent 60$ very very disappointed.
First time dining there tonight, for my wife’s birthday. Disappointing because of very slow service. Took over an hour to get our main dish. We ordered the caprese salad (excellent), lasagna (good), and Italian cream cake (excellent). Like to give them another try because maybe it was just a bad night.
Loved it! First time here..so fresh and delicious. Prices are great. Staff friendly. Gosh such a secret..never knew about this place and so glad to have gound it.
Had the filet mignon. Cooked to perfection. Eric provided outstanding service and conversation.
The fettuccine Alfredo was very bland. No flavor at all. After finding out that we were vegetarians, the waiter asked if we would like some vegetables on our pasta. We said yes. When we got the check we were charged about $7 to add mushrooms. That was half the price of the entree. The service was good because it was a slow night but the food, not so! However, the bread with olive oil was delicious .
I love this place for the ambiance, the memorabilia and of course, the amazing cuisine. The eggplant and the gumbo are both bests in my book of beloved bon appétit's.

I attended a company holiday party. Chicken Marsala and Lasagna Josephine were on the menu. Both were excellent.
Great family owned restaurant. Food is consistently amazing.
Calamari was delicious. I was disappointed with the spaghetti Carbonara which was very eggy and had an odd taste to it. My husband did not care for his lasagna either. They also sat us in the back on what used to be a card or chess table and everything was off balance. Not the old Patranellas we used to like. Really disappointing evening.
Patrenella's is old school. From it's ambiance to it's recipes, this place is straight out of Houston's history book. I was fortunate enough to be with some old school people that know Mr. Patrenella and was honored to meet the man himself. Sammy is as full of charisma as he is stories of the restaurant he grew up in and now owns. This literally is the home he grew up in turned into Patrenella's restaurant!
This use to be a very good restaurant, but not anymore. Service is terrible. If you are a waiter, trying to take people's orders without a pen and paper...it is terrible. If you can't remember people's order, WRITE IT DOWN!!!! It gets annoying when the waitress is constantly asking who wants what because she obviously has a bad memory and refuses to write it down. I'm obviously not feeling good just eating here an hour ago. I'm in the bathroom and it smells like HELL. I suggest whoever is hiring the waitstaff to rethink and evaluate them because they really disappoint. Sorry I'm never coming back here again. I use to brag about this place to family and friends. Not anymore.
