The food is not fresh, the duck blood smells bad.

The duck blood is not fresh, there are fish bones in the sour soup beef, and the tomatoes taste fishy.

We dined at Pepper Twins (Kirby) on Christmas Eve, it was very good. We dined again on Sunday, January 5th, and it was terrible. The Pepper Twins Beef Cubes had way too much salt (I don't think they use MSG) and the Chicken Fried Rice was way too oily. I've never had Pepper Twins taste that bad. I've never know it to be too salty or too oily. What has happened in the kitchen on Kirby?

I have been visiting the restaurant since it opened about 2018. I believe this location is under different management from when it first opened and it is the last location of the chain that remains open. Service has declined overtime, especially this year. Today was the last straw for us. My husband loves them so we are regulars. They aren't too busy as there are quite a few empty tables. Since they took the order, they came back once to check to make sure we got all the dishes and that's it. For the rest of the evening, no one came to refill our waters or rice. At the end, the server for the table next to us walked by and noticed our glasses were empty so he refilled 2 of them, but completely ignored me. I had to call him back to refill my empty glass. Unfortunately after 6 years of going to this restaurant, this will be my last time. Their food is okay compared to other similar style of Chinese restaurants, so I'd rather go to them. Even as my husband's favorite Chinese restaurant, he agreed he didn't appreciate being treated this way so he won't be going back.

Order was delivered in a timely manner. The food was WAY TOO SPICY and WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. It was $70 for 3 people.

Shrimp and veggies looked good but unevenly heated and no flavor. Commercial small egg roll.
The service and quality exceed the price.

Fantastic food at a great price, portions are generous and served quickly. We were seated promptly and given our orders in less than 10 minutes.

Food was great! The spicy chicken cubes the spicy premium pork belly were great. The dan dan noodles were good, not amazing. However, the spicy soft shell crab was one of the best and most unique Chinese dishes I have had in the US. Highly recommend!

The lady sever mereee the tall guy is annoying I am not sure why he kept looking at our table like we about to run and not pay and I am not sure why we paid for our food before our to go box was brought to us de also left out some of our foood and didn’t pack everything. No wonder it’s empty. Not a comfortable ambience. Won’t be back. Not friendly. Never going back.

Pepper Twins tastes better than most Chinese spots with a good atmosphere but…
I was a big fan of their other location before it got shut down.
This location is a massive disappointment and overall a big downgrade from the location that closed a few months ago.
Service is nice but they can forget orders… but the worst is takeout where their website doesn’t even have their full menu!!! Last time I was trying to order wonton soup and it was not on their website… but you could order in-person. Awful site integration missing key items.
The food quantity is also decreased from the other now closed location. Example: wonton soup. They gave me a cup worth of soup when they used to give a larger portion. They also used to have Wonton noodle soup at the other location and so this location’s soup is a downgrade in every way!
The food also tastes greasier than their other location. I don’t get how this one gets to stay open but the other location— vastly superior to this location in flavor, portion, and quality— is closed.
This location’s food also makes me feel weird compared to the closed location. It doesn’t taste nor feel the same. It makes me feel a little bloated like most Chinese places that use terrible stuff in their food.
It’s still better than other Chinese places… but the price point for a downgrade is not the way to go.
